Now That I Have Become a Woman, I Am a Vtuber - Chapter 65

End of Summer

“How is it? Impressive, right?”

– Oh, oh.

– You showing off? Haha.

– Wow, how much did it cost?

“I don’t know how much. The company paid for everything.”

– Damn, haha.

– The Six is something else.

– The Six is for real, huh? Haha.

“Right? Even I was a bit surprised.”

I didn’t expect it to be this good, way better than the first album.

As expected, The Six is indeed a decent company.

Who cares if they take a big commission when they deliver results like this?

If I had been working solo, I’d probably still be chatting with a handful of viewers, nowhere near making an album.

…Though, that wouldn’t have been so bad, would it? Of course, I never would have achieved this kind of success.

“This song is really good, so everyone, look forward to it.”

A talented composer wrote the song, and the members worked hard to record it. There’s no way it won’t be good.

– Looking forward to it? Nah.

– Hmm… is it really that good?

– Feels kind of bland, though.

“I’ll banish those of you from the future back to the future~”

– Gasp!

– Should I just bury my head in shame?

– Teacher, I raised my hand!

“Keep your hand up.”

With that, I turned on *Civilization*.

Now that all the announcements were made, it’s time to do what I want.

– ???

– Wait, what the hell? I told you I raised my hand.

– What do you mean, *Civilization*?

– If you don’t turn that off, I won’t watch the music video tomorrow.

“.I mean, we’ve got to finish the war, right?”

So that day, I ignored the viewers’ opinions, enjoyed *Civilization*, and ended the stream.

The next day.

After waking up early in the afternoon, I got ready to go out.

“Going out again?”

As I busily prepared, Ms. Jang, who was vacuuming in the living room, threw out a remark.

Is she surprised because I usually don’t go out, but now I’m going out more often?

“To a friend’s house.”

“What? Whose? You have friends?”

“I do, okay?”

“I thought Hyejeong was your only friend.”

What does she even think of her daughter?

Does she really think Hyejeong is my only friend?

That’s ridiculous…

“Um, okay, fine. You’re right.”

“What’s with that tone?”

Now that I think about it, she’s right.

Of course, before becoming a woman, I had quite a few friends, but after transitioning, Hyejeong is the only close friend I meet and stay in touch with regularly. But.

“I’m different now that I’ve started working.”

How much has my network expanded since starting the broadcast?

From the members of the Celestial Project, to Ilda the manager, then there’s Hyunsu and the band people at Hyunsu’s studio… the composer… uh.

That’s about it?

I’ve made connections with over 10 people, so that’s quite a lot.

“Good for you.”

“Yep, anyway, I’m heading out. I might not come home tonight.”

Since I planned to stay over, I casually mentioned it, and Ms. Jang nodded without much thought.

“You’re staying out?”

“Yeah.”

“Okay.”

Isn’t she being too casual about this? I expected some resistance, so I even prepared pictures to verify who I’d be with.

“Isn’t it a little too easy to let me go?”

“It’s just going to be another girl’s place, right? One of your broadcast acquaintances?”

“Sharp…”

“Of course, I know.”

Is this what you call experience? I marveled at Ms. Jang’s quick deduction and left the house.

After gently prying off Bokshil, who clung to me as usual, I stepped out the front gate and followed the location info I’d received.

Now that summer has passed and autumn is settling in, the cool breeze feels refreshing.

A few months ago, walking even a little made me sweat buckets, but now, even after walking for quite some time, the breeze is just pleasantly cool.

After walking briskly for a while, I arrived at a newly-built villa.

“Is this the place?”

It matches the map I was sent…

I sent a message to let them know I’d arrived and waited below.

After about a minute, the villa’s front door opened, and a woman came out.

“Mi—no, Suhyun!”

“Yes, I’m here.”

She’s still as tall as ever.

Well, it’s only been less than a week since we last saw each other.

“Welcome!”

“Thanks, could you show me in quickly?”

“Of course, come on in.”

Following Maho inside, I entered the building.

“Wow.”

Maho’s place wasn’t huge, but it felt expansive.

With character figures scattered around and a clean interior, it felt like Suhyun’s room was the despair version of an otaku’s room, while this place was the hopeful version.

“Did you lock the door?”

“Huh? Of course I did.”

Why is she asking if I locked the door?

And as soon as I thought that, Maho tackled me.

“Ah!”

“You! How did you take that picture?”

Picture? What picture… Oh!

Come to think of it, I posted a photo in the group chat yesterday with actor Moon Changsik.

“You didn’t even tell us how you met him! You just posted the photo and left us curious!”

“W-wait a second!”

“Go on, I’ll give you one last chance to explain.”

“How about you calm down first, and I’ll give you this?”

I was going to give it to her later, but now seems like a good time to calm her down.

I pulled out the autograph I got from Moon Changsik yesterday from my bag.

“Is that…?”

“An autograph. Look, it even has your name on it.”

Seeing Moon Changsik’s autograph, with the message “To Ms. Maho Hyun, wishing you happiness,” written below, I could visibly see Maho’s rage meter drop.

“You really like it that much?”

“Of course! You know how much I like Changsik?”

“Really?”

What? Isn’t Maho supposed to be an otaku like me? And yet, she’s into real-life actors like a social butterfly…

“Why are you looking at me like that? I like dramas and movies too, you know.”

“So, you’re into everything?”

“Yeah, because creative works are amazing.”

I totally get that sentiment…

“Anyway, you’re not planning to threaten me anymore, right?”

“I never threatened you… So, how did you meet him?”

If I explain everything from the beginning, I’ll have to mention going to the composer’s studio and the new song…

How should I phrase this?

“Well, you know the composer.”

“Our *Celestial Project* composer?”

“Yeah, I was the guide vocalist for the new song last time, remember?”

“Right, you did well.”

Hmm, I’ll just mix in a little lie.

“So, this time I went because they asked me to again.”

“And…?”

Oh, wait. Was Moon Changsik’s movie project a secret? Or was the fact that he’s the lead actor supposed to be a secret?

He did ask me to keep something confidential, but what was it?

Since I can’t recall, I decided to gloss over it.

“They seemed to know each other. He just happened to be there, and we ran into each other.”

“Really?”

“Yeah, so I got an autograph and took a picture with him.”

“Wow… What was he like in person?”

What was he like?

Now that I think about it, since I didn’t know anything about Moon Changsik, I probably had the most objective view of him.

In my unbiased opinion, Moon Changsik is…

“Really, honestly?”

“Yeah, I’m ready for anything, just say it.”

Maho nodded, showing she was prepared, and I delivered my overall assessment.

“He’s… kind of a weird person?”

“Did you just say that?”

“You told me to be honest.”

Yeah, he’s a bit strange.

Isn’t it odd for someone to pull out their phone mid-conversation to take notes, then suddenly fall into deep thought claiming they’ve had an inspiration?

“And he’s very professional.”

Although that part is strange, I couldn’t help but acknowledge that he’s a true professional.

“In what way?”

“There’s a lot, but this stands out the most.”

As I spoke, I showed her the photo we took back then.

“Wow… they look good together… but why this?”

Maho muttered as if feeling a bit let down by the picture, but that’s not the point right now.

“Look at his expression here.”

“I see it.”

“He was frowning.”

“What? Really?”

“Yeah, it’s kind of fascinating how his expression instantly changes for the photo, right?”

“But wait, why was he frowning in the first place?”

Uh, how should I explain this?

To explain why he was frowning, I’d have to talk about how I didn’t recognize him at first and the conversation we had while eating afterward. But that would be too long, right?

“I think it was because he wasn’t feeling well.”

“Oh, I see. Did he look really sick?”

“Not really, just a bit uncomfortable, I guess.”

Sorry, Moon Changsik… At least I didn’t say anything bad!

“Anyway, let’s get ready for the stream.”

“Oh! Right.”

We headed over to Maho’s computer. It was still a bit early for the premiere, but since I was already here, we planned to stream together in the meantime.

“By the way, I’m surprised.”

Maho said as she sat down at her desk and turned on the computer.

“Surprised by what?”

“That you came.”

“Why? It’s close by.”

Last night.

Maho had posted in the group chat looking for someone to watch the premiere together with.

The other members couldn’t make it due to distance or other issues… but I didn’t have those problems since I live nearby.

“Aren’t you a homebody?”

“I am, but I came here to stream with you.”

And wasn’t it the team who showed up for me during the *Miro 24* event?

I would have been willing to go even if another member had invited me.

“Okay, the computer’s on, so go ahead and log in.”

“Me?”

“Yeah, since you made the effort to come, you should use your account.”

“But we’re at your place, so you should use yours.”

Maho’s tone sounded considerate, but I actually preferred that Maho be the one to stream.

“Why? Isn’t it better for you if you stream with your account?”

“My viewers have been a bit unstable lately. I think they’ll be more controlled if we stream from your channel.”

Besides, whoever wants to join will show up anyway once they know I’m appearing as a guest on Maho’s stream. I already gave them a heads-up at the end of yesterday’s broadcast, so most of them should come.

“Unstable? Is it serious?”

Maho sounded concerned when I mentioned the instability of my viewers. To be honest, I caused the situation, so I didn’t have much to say.

“It’s nothing too bad, they just need some time to settle down.”

“I see… alright then, I’ll start it from mine.”

With that, Maho skillfully set up the stream.

By the way, her computer and monitor setup is so nice, and everything’s so pretty.

Mine’s just a dull black… maybe real women are different after all?

Come to think of it, is this my first time being in a woman’s room since living alone?

I don’t really feel anything. I’m just kind of fascinated.

If I had come here back when I was still a guy, how would I have felt?

Maho is pretty, so I probably would’ve felt a little nervous, right?

Thinking about that, I watched as Maho swiftly set up the stream.

She’s more skilled than I am.

She smoothly opened the programs and got everything ready for the broadcast.

“What should the stream title be?”

“Title?”

“Yeah, let’s go for something *Miro* themed.”

Hmm.

What should it be? Nothing immediately comes to mind…

Then I thought of something good.

Summer’s practically over, right?

Since we’re releasing the song at the end of summer…

“The End of Summer.”

“Is that okay?”

“Let’s wrap up summer with our song.”

“Oh, that’s got a nice vibe.”

And so, the stream title was set.

The long, hot summer was finally over.
