Now That I Have Become a Woman, I Am a Vtuber - Chapter 64

Announcement

“Is it done now?”

“Yes, thank you.”

In the end, I managed to get all eight signatures. Since there was nowhere suitable to sign, I had him do it on a notebook, but this should be satisfying enough.

“Do you want to take a picture too?”

“If it’s okay, I’d like to.”

“I don’t mind.”

“Then, I’ll take you up on that. Would you like to join us too, Composer?”

Since we were taking a picture anyway, I thought the three of us could do it together, but the composer, who was eating a sandwich, shook his head.

“I’m good.”

“It would be nice if you joined.”

“If an old guy like me takes a picture with you two, it would be torture.”

Hmm… Is that really true? While I might not be a star, the actor next to me, Moon Changsik, is a rising star these days.

It’s not like the composer looks bad. In fact, I’d say he’s above average, but compared to me and Moon Changsik, maybe he doesn’t feel confident. Plus, he’s older.

“You don’t even deny it out of politeness.”

“Should I?”

“No, it’s fine. Just hand me the phone. I’ll be the photographer, so you two stand next to each other.”

“It’s an honor.”

We stood up from the table and lined up against the white wall, leaving a little space between us.

Is it okay to take the picture like this? It feels a bit bland.

“Wait a moment.”

Might as well take a good picture since we’re doing this.

“Move a bit closer, act like you’re friends.”

I moved Moon Changsik a little closer and casually placed my elbow on his shoulder.

“What are you doing?”

“We ate together, so let me at least do this much.”

I brushed my hair back and flashed the most natural smile I could muster.

This should be enough, right? The members and Hyejeong will totally flip out.

“Okay, we’re good. Take the picture now.”

“Alright then…”

“Okay, I’ll take it. One, two, three.”

The picture turned out to be quite something.

“Wow, what’s this?”

Even though Moon Changsik had been pulling a slightly uncomfortable face when I put my arm around him, his expression had transformed into that of a full-fledged celebrity, bright and professional.

“Professionals are on another level.”

“Right? When taking pictures with fans, you have to put in your best effort every time.”

Is this what being a pro is like…? I guess not everyone can become a star. Honestly, I thought his awkward expression would be funny, so I kind of coaxed him into it, but it’s a bit of a shame that didn’t work out.

“Anyway, thanks for taking the picture. I’ll be sure to brag about it.”

“Oh, feel free to, just don’t post it anywhere.”

“I wasn’t planning to, but why can’t I post it?”

I see people uploading photos with celebrities on the internet all the time. Are they not supposed to do that?

“It’s not a big deal usually… but, do I have to say it myself?”

“What’s the reason?”

I was genuinely curious. Was there some kind of unspoken rule in the entertainment industry that I didn’t know about?

When I pressed him with my expression, Moon Changsik sighed once and reluctantly gave the reason.

“For me, if a dating rumor pops up, it’s good as noise marketing, but it’s not good for you, is it?”

“Aha.”

It finally made sense to me after hearing that. So basically…

“Haha, you’re saying the problem is that I’m just too pretty, right? Seriously…”

“You’re driving me nuts. Want to step into the ring? Do you know how to fight?”

“Haha, just kidding.”

When I saw his fist clench, I immediately backed down. Even though it’s highly unlikely, I’m confident that if I fought Moon Changsik—even if I were still a man—I’d be crushed in less than three seconds.

“Now that the photos are done, shall we start recording?”

At that moment, the composer, who had just finished his sandwich, got up from the table.

Right, it’s time to record now.

Just thinking about singing again in the recording booth made me sigh, but it was necessary.

Imagine how satisfying the result will be once it’s done.

So, we went back into the recording studio, and after several hours of recording, I was finally released.

“Okay, let’s wrap it up here.”

“Really?”

The composer’s signal to end the session made me feel ecstatic. Is it really over now?

“Yes, no matter how strong your voice is, overdoing it can cause problems.”

It already felt like I was overdoing it, but I decided not to say anything. What would be the point of complaining now?

As I stumbled out of the recording booth, completely drained, I saw Moon Changsik, who had been sitting there with his arms crossed, watching the entire process for hours.

He’s got real passion. I used to think actors just followed their scripts, but he’s so serious about his pre-work study too.

“Wasn’t it boring, watching all this?”

When I spoke to him, Moon Changsik finally uncrossed his arms and responded.

“No, it wasn’t boring. I was thinking about how I would act in my head.”

“Oh…”

“But thanks to you, I got a lot of good ideas. I really appreciate it.”

He lowered his head in gratitude, saying he was thankful for the inspiration.

“I was just singing, though.”

“The singing was excellent. Actually, I can’t say that the music wasn’t a part of why it wasn’t boring.”

“That’s really kind of you. I’ll make sure to watch the movie when it comes out.”

“Shall I give you a ticket to the premiere?”

“That would be great.”

The premiere means watching the movie before it’s officially released, right? With how dedicated the lead actor is to his craft, I’m genuinely curious about the film’s content.

“Then, I’ll make sure to get one to you when it’s ready.”

“Thank you.”

After agreeing to receive a premiere ticket, I grabbed my coat and bag.

“Are you heading out right away?”

“Yes, I have some things to do at home.”

After that, I said goodbye to the composer and left the studio.

It’s already afternoon. If I go home, shower, and eat, the timing will be just right.

And so, feeling the cool weather, I returned home.

“You’re back?”

When I arrived, Ms. Jang was busy preparing dinner.

Is Mr. Kim working overtime again today?

“Where’s Dad?”

“He’s at a company dinner. He said he’ll eat out.”

Ah, a company dinner.

“Must be nice?”

“Right?”

Normally, office workers dislike company dinners, but for someone like Mr. Kim, at his age and position, it’s probably fun. After all, he’s not the one hosting—he’s being treated.

“We can just enjoy something delicious ourselves.”

Hmm, she’s pretty confident. Are we having meat today?

As I subtly sniffed the air, I caught the scent of mackerel.

“Mackerel?”

“Yes, along with beef seaweed soup.”

“For all that confidence, it’s a pretty simple menu.”

“Do you want to get kicked out?”

“…I’ll go take a shower.”

I tried joking around and got hit straight away, so I turned to head into the shower. But then I remembered what I had brought.

“Oh, right. Mom, do you know Moon Changsik?”

“The actor? Of course, he’s been on TV a lot lately.”

Oh… So she knows him.

“Are you a fan?”

“Not exactly. Why?”

It’s a shame she’s not a fan. It would’ve made the gift even more special.

I went into my room, grabbed the signed paper from my bag, and brought it out to the living room.

“What’s that?”

“A signature from Moon Changsik.”

“What? Out of the blue?”

When I casually handed over the paper with her name and Moon Changsik’s signature on it, she was both surprised and delighted.

“What’s this? Did you go to a filming set today or something?”

“No, I went to a friend’s studio, and he happened to be there, so I got it for you.”

“Oh…”

“What’s with that look?”

“Well, it just feels so real now, that he’s a real celebrity.”

Real or not, I’m no celebrity myself, so what is she even talking about…

“Listen, don’t go spreading that around. I’m not a celebrity, so don’t get confused and tell people.”

I quickly warned her, worried she might say something strange to her friends or our relatives. She visibly showed disappointment.

“Not even a little?”

“Nope.”

“Ugh, I was going to brag a little about my daughter.”

“Absolutely not.”

“Then what’s the point of having you if I can’t even brag?”

“I brought you the autograph, didn’t I?”

After looking him up properly, I confirmed that Moon Changsik is indeed a top-tier actor.

You should be grateful just for bringing home the autograph of such an actor.

“Yeah, I admit, that’s pretty nice.”

Ms. Jang acknowledged the gesture and carefully placed the autograph in her room.

“But what about your dad’s?”

“I got his too. I’ll give it to him myself.”

“He’s going to love it.”

“Really?”

“Yeah, he watches movies all the time.”

Now that I think about it, on weekends, he’s always glued to the sofa, watching movies or dramas. If I’d watched with him back then, I probably would have recognized Moon Changsik when I first saw him.

Anyway, it looks like I’m scoring some serious points at home with this. Thanks, Moon Changsik…!

My fondness for him is naturally rising.

Speaking of which, didn’t we take a picture together too?

Earlier, during the recording, I got a text from my manager asking me to officially announce the release of the second album for “Celestial Realm” on today’s show. All the members were supposed to reveal it at the same time.

We’ve been silently taking hits from viewers asking when the new song would drop, and today, we finally get to relieve that burden.

As expected, the group chat has been buzzing non-stop with excitement all day.

Shall I throw in another log to keep the fire burning?

Grinning, I uploaded the photo I took with Moon Changsik to the chat.

(Me): (Photo)

(Me): Did we come out looking okay?

(Maho): **WTF WHAT IS THIS?!**

After seeing Maho’s reply, I closed the chat.

Time to shower, eat, and then start the broadcast.

After filling my stomach and washing away the fatigue from that exhausting recording session, I stepped into the soundproof booth.

I quickly set up for the broadcast, and without any delay, I went live.

[Major Announcement (Real)]

– “What’s the major announcement?”

– “Why are you going live now?”

– “What were you doing yesterday?”

– “Did you continue playing Civilization?”

I didn’t stream yesterday, so it’s been two days. This is also my second stream since doing the “Miro 24-Hour Challenge.”

“Hello, everyone!”

– “Yay!”

– “Why didn’t you stream yesterday?”

– “What’s the major announcement? Other members streamed too.”

“Yesterday? I streamed until the morning, so I didn’t do one last night.”

– “Ah, makes sense. You were streaming for ages.”

– “You tricked us again!”

– “If you’re going to do that, then don’t play Civilization!!”

“I’m going to play Civilization today too, though?” I said while launching the game.

Did they think I wouldn’t play today?

– “Aaaaaah!! Anna!! Roa!!”

– “*Sigh*…”

– “Let’s go!! ㅋㅋ”

– “If you’re excited, smash that like button ㅋㅋㅋㅋ”

– “We’re taking down Japan today, right? ㅋㅋ”

[Thank you for the 5,000-won donation, oo!]

“Is it okay if I play Civilization today? No sudden cancelations this time, right? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ.”

“Ah.”

Come to think of it, during the last stream…

ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

– “Is MiroMom not showing up today?”

– “Was something up?”

– “Ahㅋㅋㅋㅋ.”

[Thank you for the 10,000-won donation, JanginMiro!]

“Teacher, can you tell us what happened after that? ㅋㅋ”

“There’s not much to say. I just came out and told them about the stream.”

– “No way! The fact that you hadn’t already is legendary. ㅋㅋ”

– “How did you even hide it? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ.”

– “You shouldn’t have gone home if you wanted to hide it.”

– “Are we embarrassed now?”

Embarrassed? Honestly, I wouldn’t say I’m proud enough to openly tell my parents about all of this.

“Okay, fine! I was a little embarrassed!”

– “?????”

– “This is a real controversy. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ.”

– “Man, this guy’s something else.”

“But introducing my stream to my parents? I felt like it was a bit early for that…”

– “Wow, pulling this kind of move here, huh?”

– “Crazy.”

– “You’ve officially become a full-time VTuber.”

“Anyway, I should get back to what I was doing, right?”

Enough of the chit-chat; it’s time to return to the continent where iron, gunpowder, and blood flow freely.

I loaded the save file from yesterday morning, and the now-familiar game screen popped up.

– “Aaaah!!”

– “Please…”

– “You said you’d make a major announcement…”

– “Did you lie to us, Miro?”

“The major announcement… isn’t ready just yet, so I’ll conquer Japan first, then we’ll get to that.”

I had to continue what I was doing, right?

So, I kept playing Civilization for a while. The sound of viewers groaning filled the chat as I fought a fierce war against Japan. Time flew by, and before I knew it, we were approaching the moment for the big announcement.

“Alright, it’s time now.”

– “Finally, it’s over.”

– “So, what’s the big announcement?”

– “I almost went to bed.”

– “Why do people hate Civilization so much?”

But there were enough people who enjoyed it, too.

“Okay, everyone, wake up. It’s time.”

I clapped my hands to wake up anyone who might’ve dozed off, then completely exited the game.

[Thank you for the 1,000-won donation, oo!]

“So, what’s the big announcement?”

“The big announcement? Before I say anything, let me just…”

With that, I opened the file the manager had sent me earlier. Let’s see… looks like the timing is perfect, right on schedule.

I opened the file, and a video appeared.

“Alright, take a good look.”

I clicked play, and a video started playing in full screen.

The video began with a night sky. Fireworks exploded across the endless night, signaling the start of the announcement.

Then, the background changed rapidly: a beach, a mountain, a school, a roadside convenience store, and a small shop—locations that could be found anywhere. They passed by quickly, like someone walking through a 2D animated town, looking around.

After a few seconds of exploring the village, the camera returned to the night sky. Then, it panned rapidly downward, and the video ended with the moonlight reflecting off a shimmering field, casting the shadows of six people.

“Well, what do you think?”

Honestly, I was surprised myself.

The quality of the intro video was this good? No wonder it took longer than expected.

Even knowing it was just an intro video, I was still impressed. So how would the viewers react?

– “????”

– “Wow, this is amazing.”

– “The Six! The Six! The Six! The Six!”

– “What is this quality?!”

As expected, they were blown away.
