Now That I Have Become a Woman, I Am a Vtuber - Chapter 147

“Wait… you met them in person?”
Tenshi-san asked, her tone laced with disbelief.

Meanwhile, Sake-san’s jaw hung open in silent shock.

“Uh… yeah, I did.”

“Did you go to a fan meeting or something? You’re not really into idols, are you?”

“Oh, no, not exactly.”

A fan meeting? That’s not how it happened. Should I just say I went to one? No, there’s no need to lie.
If anything, knowing an idol personally is more impressive.

“It’s more like… he’s a friend of a friend.”

That’s the perfect way to describe my connection to Lee Hyunjun. We’re not exactly close, but we’re not strangers either.

“A friend of a friend…?”

“Well, you see—”

Before I could explain further, Sake-san suddenly exclaimed.

“Ah!”

Her eyes lit up with realization, and she gasped.

“You… used to be an idol, didn’t you?”

“Uh… no.”

What? How did she even come to that conclusion?

“And that’s how it happened.”

I ended up explaining the entire situation.

“Wow, you’ve got quite the network, huh? I see Hyun-joon on TV all the time,” Tenshi-san said, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Meanwhile, Sake-san seemed to still be processing everything.

“So… they actually know who I am?”

It seemed like it had only just dawned on her that Beastz was aware of her existence.

“Haha… hahaha!”

And just like that, she burst into laughter.

This is the legendary VTuber?

Watching her laugh like a kid who just got their favorite snack, I couldn’t help but feel a mix of amusement and second-hand embarrassment.

“Well, I feel great now!”

“Yeah, I can tell.”

Her pure, almost childlike joy made me think that even legends have their quirky sides.

“So… is Senpai paying for dinner tonight?”

Taking advantage of the moment, Tenshi-san swooped in with her proposition.

I had to give it to her—her timing and precision rivaled a seasoned FPS player.

“Sure! I’ll treat you!”

Thanks to Tenshi-san’s quick thinking, I got a free dinner too. Naturally, I gave her a thumbs-up.

Free meals are always the best meals.

After a hearty dinner, we returned to Sake-san’s living room. Full and content, I sprawled out on the couch.

It was that weird time of night where you’re too tired to do anything productive but not quite ready to go to bed. The three of us just lounged around, too drained to think about anything else.

I idly scrolled through my phone, laughing to myself as I remembered the chaos in my chat before I left for Japan.

“Why are you smiling like that?”

Tenshi-san, who had been lying beside me, noticed and asked.

“Oh, just thinking about my stream before I came here.”

“Ah, you must’ve left on a break, right? You usually stream daily.”

“Yeah, I did.”

“Wait… you stream every day?”

Sake-san’s voice cut in as she joined the conversation.

“Oh, yeah. I usually do.”

“That’s… amazing.”

She sounded genuinely impressed. Japanese VTubers, after all, often put a lot of effort into each broadcast, spacing them out to maintain high quality.

“I don’t try too hard, though. My streams are pretty casual.”

“Casual?”

“Well… uh… how do I put this?”

As I fumbled for the right words, Tenshi-san jumped in with her hand raised.

“I’ll explain it to Senpai!”

“Wait, really?”

“Leave it to me!”

I figured she’d give a brief explanation, so I let her take over.

But what was supposed to be a short summary turned into a long, animated explanation in Japanese.

By the end, Sake-san’s expression had gone from curious to shocked to downright bewildered.

“Uh… wow. You’re… amazing?”

I decided not to ask what exactly she’d been told.

Eventually, Sake-san brought out some blankets, and we settled down for the night.

Sleeping on the couch in someone else’s living room gave me a nostalgic feeling, like staying over at a friend’s house during childhood.

Tenshi-san lay next to me, scrolling through her phone and showing me places she wanted to visit tomorrow.

“Let’s go here! And here! Oh, and here!”

Her enthusiasm was infectious, but my attention was drawn to a certain listing for a merchandise shop.

Maybe I could pick up some souvenirs there.

Before long, Tenshi-san drifted off to sleep, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

For some reason, I couldn’t fall asleep.

After tossing and turning for what felt like forever, I gave up and got up from the couch.

“Mm…?”

My movements must have disturbed Tenshi-san because she stirred and looked at me sleepily.

“Did I wake you?”

“No… I’m fine…,” she mumbled before curling back under the blanket.

I tucked her in properly before heading to the kitchen for a glass of water.

That’s when I noticed a light coming from one of the rooms.

Curious, I knocked on the door.

“Come in,” came Sake-san’s voice.

I opened the door to find her sitting in front of a monitor, a PlayStation controller in hand.

“You’re gaming?”

“Haha, not quite. I’m prepping for tomorrow.”

“Prepping?”

“Yeah, I always check everything in advance.”

Her dedication was impressive. Unlike me, who just wings it half the time, she clearly put a lot of thought into her work.

“Can’t sleep?” she asked.

“Yeah, something like that.”

I wasn’t sure why, but I felt restless.

“Mind if I go for a walk?”

“A walk?”

“Yeah, just a quick one. Maybe I’ll stream while I’m at it.”

The idea of a night stroll through Japan sounded refreshing. Plus, a late-night stream could be fun.

“Stream? Outside?”

Her eyes widened in surprise, as if the concept of an outdoor broadcast was completely foreign to her.

“Is that… allowed?”

“It’s fine. My manager approved it.”

Satisfied, I started preparing to head out.

As I put on my coat, Sake-san suddenly emerged from her room.

“Are you going out?”

“Yeah, just for a bit.”

She hesitated before asking, “Can I… come with you?”

“Uh… sure, if you don’t mind me streaming.”

She nodded enthusiastically.

And just like that, the VTuber legend joined me for a late-night stroll through Tokyo.
