Since I Became a Woman, I’ll Do Cosplay - Chapter 84

Battle for Leadership, Part 2

Hayoon was truly experiencing life as a high school girl.

Her preconceived notion that a woman’s body shouldn’t be touched casually had been shattered, thanks to Hong Seo-hyun.

It was a typical day.

A typical day at school, fixing her bangs in front of the mirror.

Hayoon tended to think of herself as a beautiful figurine.

A figurine with cracks or blemishes was unpleasant to look at.

So, it wasn’t strange for her to constantly check her appearance, smoothing down any stray hairs.

But the unexpected always happened in front of the mirror.

Hong Seo-hyun approached from behind and cornered Hayoon against the mirror.

The wall-mounted mirror, true to its name, was attached to the wall.

“Gotcha!”

“Wh-What are you…”

“Did you think I’d forget about yesterday?”

Hong Seo-hyun, with a confident shout, pressed Hayoon against the mirror, her chest flattening against the glass, creating a strangely intimate atmosphere.

The feeling of her breasts being compressed was both disconcerting and strangely arousing, causing her cheeks to flush.

“I’ll grope you until you’re a mess…!”

“Eek…!”

Hong Seo-hyun’s hands invaded her skirt, grabbing her butt as revenge for yesterday.

She squeezed and kneaded, like a mochi doll. It wasn’t painful, but the slight shift of her panties against her skin sent a shiver down her spine.

It was a strange, unfamiliar sensation. A forbidden pleasure.

And with every squeeze, Hayoon’s heels lifted slightly off the ground, adding to the sense of transgression.

“Hmm…”

“…?”

A sudden silence fell.

“Ahem…ha, haha…”

“A-Ahaha…”

They awkwardly chuckled and went back to their seats. It was…something.

They both instinctively felt that they were on the verge of crossing a line.

‘I’m so pissed…’

But after the awkwardness subsided, Hayoon felt a surge of indignation. Why did she have to endure such an aggressive act? Hong Seo-hyun played with her stomach all the time; why couldn’t she touch her butt? Did it have to be like this?

‘How should I get her back?’

Hayoon’s rebellious spirit was ignited.

Forgetting the potential consequences of taking things further, she stared at Hong Seo-hyun’s butt, just as Hong Seo-hyun had done earlier.

It’s human nature to want revenge.

Hayoon plotted her revenge, her gaze fixed on Hong Seo-hyun’s rear.

‘Why does my back feel so prickly…’

Hong Seo-hyun, sensing Hayoon’s gaze, nervously scratched the back of her head, thinking she might have gone too far.

She felt she had gotten her revenge, and as long as Hayoon didn’t provoke her further, she wouldn’t escalate things.

‘Should I just… slip my hand inside her panties?’

But Hayoon’s desire for revenge burned just as brightly. It seemed their escalating game of provocation was far from over.

‘Wow…wow…! Wow…?!’

Meanwhile, outside the club room…

‘Are they… playing like that?’

Choi Arin, misunderstanding the situation, stood with her hand over her mouth, peeking inside.

‘Those naughty girls…’

Even for girls, groping each other’s butts to the point of lifting their heels off the ground was shocking. It was shocking, but…

‘Why am I being left out…?’

What truly bothered her was the feeling of being excluded. So that’s why they had been avoiding her lately… they were playing like that…

‘Having all the fun without me…’

Surprisingly, Choi Arin was more upset about being left out than about the “lewdness” of their interaction.

She wanted to join in, but the atmosphere didn’t seem right, so she decided to bide her time, plotting her own revenge.

‘Just how far is too far…?’

She didn’t understand these kinds of interactions, but being excluded felt unfair. She’d have to do some research.

Although Hayoon was eager for revenge, the opportunity didn’t present itself immediately.

Revenge was important, but so was work.

She decided to bide her time. That evening, Hong Seo-hyun, as Scarlet, hosted the chicken giveaway stream.

-Hello, hello. Scarlet’s back.

While the initial debut hype had subsided, the chicken giveaway still drew a crowd, with 1,200 concurrent viewers at its peak.

The numbers would drop in the following days, but even if only 200 viewers remained, it would be a win.

Some streamers struggled for years to reach that number.

-And as I mentioned yesterday, my original song will be a love song. It’ll be released on October 31st, Halloween, so look forward to it.

Hayoon wasn’t worried. She had seen enough of Hong Seo-hyun’s streams to know she wasn’t terrible.

“With some luck, she could reach 500 average viewers.”

Hong Seo-hyun was doing a great job subtly promoting her original song, the ending theme for Cosplay Holic.

This would also boost Cosplay Holic’s initial sales.

Hayoon smiled, pleased with Scarlet’s successful debut, and closed her eyes, listening to the ending song.

It was another calming, easy-listening tune, perfect for falling asleep.

With Cosplay Holic’s release less than two weeks away, Hayoon’s school life was peaceful.

She occasionally had to fend off Hong Seo-hyun’s advances and respond to Choi Arin’s curious gazes with feigned ignorance, but otherwise, things were normal.

The most encouraging thing was Scarlet’s consistently good streaming performance.

While the initial debut hype had faded, she maintained an average of 400 viewers.

She was no longer a small streamer, and with a few more months, she could be considered mid-tier.

“Should I do a collab stream…?”

Hayoon was conflicted. This had been her biggest concern lately.

Should she have Haru collab with Scarlet, who was doing well on her own? Was it worth risking disrupting Scarlet’s momentum for the sake of promoting Cosplay Holic, a game with already decent projected sales?

“This is tricky…”

Collaboration streams didn’t always have positive outcomes. As she pondered,

“Hayooooon.”

“Ah, unnie.”

Choi Arin entered the club room, her voice slightly cloying.

She had become more physically affectionate lately, not as overtly as Hong Seo-hyun, but she’d often join Hayoon in front of the mirror, fixing her hair.

“What are you thinking about?”

She gently stroked Hayoon’s shoulders as she asked.

“Ah, well…”

When Hayoon explained her concerns about the collaboration stream,

“Of course you should do it.”

“Huh?”

“You have to. Do you want our game to be just a moderate success? If that happens, we won’t be able to make another game for the next year or two.”

Choi Arin voiced her opinion without hesitation.

“Is Cosplay Holic just ‘decent’ to you? Is creating a cash cow enough? Aren’t you curious about how the animation I made with your art will be received?”

And those words were…

…enough to wake Hayoon up.

“Ah.”

Scarlet’s, Hong Seo-hyun’s, debut was a means to boost Cosplay Holic’s promotion.

Neglecting the game just because the means were showing promise was unfair to…

…Choi Arin and Do Jin-ho.

“Thanks, unnie. That helped clear things up.”

“You’re welcome.”

Her muddled thoughts cleared. Choi Arin, seeing Hayoon had made up her mind, carefully stroked her hair.

Hayoon was indeed at her best when she was giving her all.

The collaboration stream was on.
