I Became a Member of My Favorite Group! - Chapter 23

From Debut to Instant Dark History!

With the debut broadcasts of the remaining two members now over as of yesterday,

I uploaded the edited videos to the newly created Clipping channel.

Then, I decided to check out a community I used to visit occasionally in my younger days.

[Domestic VTuber Gallery]

Seeing the familiar banner made me feel oddly at ease.

Back when Blue Love had just debuted, I used to lurk here a lot.

This was pretty much the only place where relevant posts would pop up.

There are other communities, but they’re mostly for overseas VTubers, so any posts about Blue Love would get blocked immediately.

“Wow, there are so many posts…?”

A faint sigh escaped my lips as I checked the timestamps of the recent posts.

I heard this place was half-dead before Blue Love debuted.

It’s probably because the domestic VTuber market wasn’t very active back then.

But thanks to Blue Love’s debut broadcast yesterday, there are quite a few posts now.

The view counts are pretty high too.

Thinking about how much influence our Blue Love fans have makes me feel oddly proud.

“Ahem…”

I puffed up my chest a little and slowly scrolled down.

There are quite a few posts with eye-catching titles.

  • The debut broadcast was packed, so I’m giving it a thumbs up lol
  • Blue Love’s avatar quality is insane it’s legendary
  • Kang CEO must’ve prepared like crazy fr
  • Lilith < Did she surpass this with her vocals?
  • I’m most curious about the fifth member.

Hmm, just from the titles, it seems like there’s a lot of praise.

The avatar quality of the Blue Love members is indeed amazing.

Chae-yoon unnie—no, Lilith’s singing was also full of passion.

“Huh?”

Just as I was about to check out a few more highly recommended posts and leave,

A post with over 300 recommendations caught my eye.

Wait, but the title…?

  • VTuber fans, you have to subscribe to this channel. The quality is insane.

Click—

I cautiously clicked on the post, and the content unfolded.

Title: VTuber fans, you have to subscribe to this channel. The quality is insane.

Author: Lilith’sFootWiper

If you’re a VTuber fan lurking in this gallery, you probably already know that Blue Love had their debut broadcast two days ago.

With that in mind, I’m here to recommend a YouTube channel.

If you’re in the know, you’ve probably already guessed it’s the Clipping channel.

(Channel name screenshot)

As you can see, the channel name is “BlueOshi.”

I think it’s named that because all the members are oshis (favorites).

But the quality and upload speed of this channel’s videos are just insane.

The debut broadcasts for Yukiko and Lilith ended at 6 PM and 7 PM respectively, but the edited videos were uploaded before 2 AM.

(Video upload time screenshot)

But do you know what’s the craziest part about this channel?

All the videos have subtitles in English, Japanese, and Indonesian.

If you don’t believe me, go check it out yourself.

I can’t verify the Japanese and Indonesian because I’m not proficient,

But I know a bit of English from studying abroad, and the subtitles are just on another level.

It’s almost like a transcendent translation.

I’m honestly wondering why this person isn’t working as a translator instead of being a clipper.

Anyway, if you can’t catch all the live broadcasts, just shut up and subscribe.

Gasp, what?

That’s my channel!

It’s being recommended in the community like this?

I’ve never experienced this before, even back when I was a guy, so I’m a bit flustered.

Well, it makes sense.

When I first started as a Blue Love clipper, my editing skills were much worse than they are now.

But as Blue Love gradually rose to the top of the charts, both domestically and internationally,

I grew alongside them, and my subscriber count slowly increased.

Thinking about it now, I’ve come a long way.

I feel kinda proud of myself.

  • I found this channel on the first day too, and it’s just insane fr LOL
    • That’s what I’m saying. At this level, it feels like they have separate people for subtitles, editing, and effects. There’s no other explanation.
  • Wow, I just checked it out, and the quality is insane. Is this an official channel?
    • What’s Kang CEO doing? Why hasn’t she kidnapped this talented person yet?
      • The official channel hasn’t even uploaded anything yet, so isn’t this better than the official one…? Am I allowed to say that?
  • This is the first time I’ve audibly gasped while watching a Clipping channel video.
    • There’s someone just like me lol fr the quality is insane.
      • This person must’ve worked for a big company or something.
        • Why would someone like that be a clipper? wtf LOL

Feeling proud, I also checked out the comments.

I thought there’d be at least one complaint, but surprisingly, they were all positive.

Hehe, that’s a relief.

At least my skills won’t be a burden to the Blue Love members.

I’ll keep working hard from now on.

Just as I was about to read the last comment and close the tab to prepare for my debut broadcast,

  • Will the last member’s video be uploaded soon too?
    • Judging by the upload speed so far, probably?

Huh? The last member’s video?

Wait, are they talking about me?

Nah, that can’t be.

There probably aren’t many people expecting a video about me anyway.

I’d rather use that time to upload one more video about the Blue Love members.

[Yuna]: Dajeong, fighting!!!!!!
[Ra-hee Unnie]: Dajeong, don’t be too nervous. We’re all watching.
[Chae-yoon Unnie]: Let’s wrap it up well and have a wrap-up party tonight!
[Jia Unnie]: You can do it, Dajeong!

“Hehe…”

After finishing my broadcast preparations, I checked the group chat and saw messages from the members.

Each of them sent encouraging words in their own unique and heartfelt way.

Seeing that, the heavy weight in my chest felt a little lighter.

Alright, let’s do this!

“I’ve already set up…”

I had already set up the broadcast equipment, but I decided to double-check just in case.

Broadcasting equipment is more complicated than I thought, but it’s not impossible to figure out with the manual.

…Well, that’s what I say, but the truth is, when the equipment first arrived, I couldn’t even set it up properly, so a company employee had to come and help me. But that’s a secret.

First, the mic is a bit too high, so I’ll lower it a little…

I should adjust the monitor position now too.

If I accidentally reveal my face during the broadcast, it’ll be a disaster.

Alright, done.

There’s about 10 minutes left until the broadcast starts, so I’ll turn it on and play the video the company sent me.

At exactly 4:49, turning to 4:50,

I click on the video that was requested to be played 10 minutes before the broadcast starts.

Like the debut broadcasts of the other members, it’s a countdown video with a cutscene of the debut process.

  • Oh
  • It’s on
  • Is it finally starting?
  • Open the door!!!

As the live broadcast starts, viewers begin trickling in, filling the chat with anticipation.

Seeing this scene, which I’ve witnessed during the other members’ debut broadcasts, makes me smile.

For those viewers, these 10 minutes must feel like an eternity.

I felt the same way.

During the debut broadcasts of the Blue Love members over the past two days.

As a hardcore fangirl, debut live broadcasts were one of the few things I hadn’t experienced.

It’s understandable since I became a fan a few months after Blue Love debuted.

But later, I regretted it a lot.

Why wasn’t I there at that time!

Why wasn’t I a fan back then!

That’s how I felt.

If I could turn back time and return to that era, I would definitely stay up to watch the live broadcast.

I’ve even had such silly thoughts before.

The most surprising thing is that it actually came true.

“Hehe…”

I couldn’t help but smile as the number of waiting viewers approached 4,000.

Of course, I don’t think this attention is solely for me.

It’s just that I’ve managed to catch some of the attention directed toward our CEO and the Blue Love members.

But paradoxically, that’s why I’m happy.

The fact that so many people are interested in Blue Love as a group.

If I can successfully wrap up today’s broadcast, these people might grow even more fond of our Blue Love members.

  • 3333333333333
  • 22222222222222222222222
  • 111111111111!!!!!!!!!!

The countdown began as if time had flown by.

Soon after, the video started playing, and I watched it alongside the viewers.

[Somewhere in the countryside, in a remote mountain village, there lived a single Upalupa.]

[This Upalupa was very kind and cute, loved by many people.]

[Even the mountain spirit was no exception!]

Ugh!

For some reason, I feel embarrassed.

Just yesterday, when I was watching the introduction videos of the other members, I didn’t feel anything.

No, actually, I found it fun.

So why does my own introduction video feel so cringy?

Maybe it’s because it feels so different from my actual self, creating a sense of disconnect.

A kind, cute, and beloved child?

Who even are you?

Is this why the CEO didn’t let me do the voiceover for my own introduction video?

I wondered why all the other members recorded their own voices, but I was left out.

So this was the reason.

[The mountain spirit decided to grant the kind Upalupa a wish.]

[And the Upalupa said:]

[“I want to become human and see the wonderful world!”]

Whoosh—

With a sound effect straight out of a magical girl anime,

The Upalupa swimming in clear water transformed into a little girl.

That little girl was the current version of my avatar.

The Upalupa, now human, finally left the mountains and,

After various twists and turns, joined Blue Love—that’s the story.

After this short cutscene-style introduction video ended,

My avatar finally appeared on the broadcast screen.

  • Wooooooow!!!!
  • Amazing!!!!!!!!!
  • So cute trembling
  • Kyaaa
  • Nice to meet you!!!!

At the same time, the chat exploded.

I immediately leaned closer to the mic and delivered the greeting I had prepared.

But for some reason…

  • ?
  • ??????????
  • Is the mic off?
  • Her mouth is just moving?
  • Is this a broadcast accident?

The chat’s reaction was unusual.

It seemed like my words weren’t being broadcasted.

What’s going on?

I’m sure the mic is on.

I set everything up exactly as the staff instructed…

I even did a test broadcast this morning.

“…Gasp!”

Frantically checking the broadcast equipment,

I noticed the volume control was set to zero.

Did I lower it after the test broadcast?

I don’t remember doing that.

Anyway, I was relieved to have found the problem, so I turned up the volume control.

Then, I opened my mouth to test the mic.

“Ah──.”

My voice came through the headset.

The problem was that the broadcasted voice echoed as if I were shouting in a large hall, reverberating hollowly like “Ah, ah, ah…”

That’s when I realized.

What I had adjusted wasn’t the volume control.

It was the echo control for the mic.

“Eek…!”

By the time I realized my mistake and let out a shrill scream, it was already too late.

And since I hadn’t turned off the mic, even that scream faintly came through the headset.

And so, my debut broadcast…

  • ???????????????????
  • LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO
  • It’s completely ruined LOL
  • Starting your debut with a disaster… impressive.
  • CEO Kang must be crying LOL

As one viewer put it, it was a complete and utter disaster.
