Streamer Crazy About Slaughter - Chapter 7
The game Another World was certainly beyond my imagination.
So, I tried to adventure or spend time in the world of Another World, but…
I couldn’t shake off the feeling that merely watching the passing scenery or the appearance of the city wasn’t enough to satisfy me.
Because of that, I tried to catch monsters at my initially planned destination, trying to feel the sensations in my body.
As I wielded the Crescent Moon Blade that I hadn’t held for a few days, I warmed up my body. Just doing that made me forget the passage of time as I kept moving.
However… after catching monsters for a few hours, the game called Another World started to feel strongly like grinding.
It was enough to remind me of the notorious “Black Ark” known for its grinding.
Terrible grinding.
Infinite repetitive actions.
Only boredom from a predetermined pattern.
The monsters, which reacted differently to each action, did not exist in this virtual reality.
Therefore, in the end, it was all just a “game.”
[PVP Battle Arena.]
At one point, I found some interest in battling against others. However, the guy I encountered who was an outlaw was disappointing, so my expectations for PVP weren’t that high.
———
As my vision once again faded to black, a familiar sensation enveloped me.
As I blinked, I found myself in the completely black-tinted Another World.
I saw a spherical device for connection.
Since it was my first experience in virtual reality, the strangely floating sensation made it difficult to follow my thoughts properly.
Blankly, I focused on the sensation of opening and closing my hand.
It still felt like my hand was holding the Crescent Moon Blade.
However, after loosening my hand a few more times, any sensation vanished as if it had been a lie.
“It’s amazing, though.”
Virtual reality was certainly more astonishing than I had expected.
Unlike just talking about virtual reality, it felt new in itself to move a different version of myself in the game world.
I wasn’t able to say that I was exactly the same as my previous self wielding the Crescent Moon Blade, but I did feel somewhat similar to my self in Black Ark.
Though I couldn’t truly feel the overwhelming sense of power, I thought it was still better than this empty body in reality.
However, the feeling I had when hitting someone lingered.
Attacking a mere character in a game rather than a real person shouldn’t be a big deal, but it strangely bothered me.
“It’s oddly addictive.”
Having already taken down hundreds of players in the world of Black Ark felt like a joke.
Feeling guilt or thinking about hurting someone after attacking a character was absurd, and the sensation of hitting a monster was starkly different from that of hitting a person.
It felt as if the game Another World encouraged PVP itself. The momentary feeling was vividly distinct compared to the sensation when killing monsters.
I felt like it was asking if I could really avoid PVP after feeling this sensation.
Grrr.
Lost in thought, hunger soon struck me.
When I checked the time, I realized that about six hours had passed since I started playing Another World.
I picked up my smartphone lying nearby and scrolled through a delivery app. After ordering a few edible items, I got up from the connection device and threw my body onto a much softer bed.
Puff.
“Ah…”
I blankly leaned into the soft embrace that seemed to hold me.
Maybe because I had been in Another World for an extended time, I wiggled my stiff body slightly to loosen it.
Only then did it feel like my stiff body was finally relaxing.
Suddenly, I wondered how expensive this bed was. I found myself thinking that as I laid down.
This realization felt like an acknowledgment that this was reality.
There were no dangers.
No worries.
Not a single one of those things existed.
And the reason to live in this world.
Something truly important was missing from my life right now.
Time was overflowing, and as I pondered about myself, these kinds of thoughts filled me instead.
“……”
When I was in the various inns of the world of Black Ark, even just sitting still, I could hear multiple sounds, but in contrast, here in this spacious room, only the calm silence filled me.
The comfortable and cozy reality seemed to captivate me like a temptation.
Suddenly, the image of myself moving my body every day in the world of Black Ark, longing for adventure, felt like a lie.
The immense sense of omnipotence that filled my body.
The red energy accumulated after years of training.
The legendary equipment and ancient artifacts accumulated after much suffering.
It felt as if someone who sent me to this world was whispering that I should sacrifice all of that to accept this cozy reality.
“…”
My current lifestyle truly had no deficiencies.
The past self whose name I could no longer remember.
Now existing as Han Serin with my gender changed, aside from a few physiological elements I had grown accustomed to, I thought I was living a much richer life compared to back then.
I wasn’t lacking in time for life, and what was overflowing for me now was undoubtedly time.
The amount of 2.7 billion in my account. Considering my personality of not indulging, one could say that I had no worries about money at all.
From the information I gathered through my PC over the past few days, it didn’t seem that the prices of essential goods like food or clothing had risen too much.
If I lived alone like this, I probably wouldn’t have to worry about money until I d*e.
Moreover, insurance payments that came into another account also amounted to ten billion. In terms of money, I was roughly at ease to the point of becoming numb to it.
—Ding.
The sound of a text message rang just in time. It indicated that my food delivery was completed outside the door.
Clack.
I grabbed the food wrapped in a stylish material placed outside the door and returned to my room.
“It’s convenient…”
As I turned on the PC and sat in my chair, those words escaped me blankly.
Savoring the taste of the spicy food in my mouth, I slowly began searching for information about “Another World.”
During the few days I adapted to this world, I had seen countless posts related to Another World but hadn’t closely examined them.
But now that I found some interest in Another World, my gaze naturally fell onto it.
As I started searching using game-related tags, other games barely appeared on the main page.
Almost all news articles, game update announcements, and community discussions were filled with mentions of the game “Another World.”
I opened several tabs from a famous site that had articles popping up on the main page.
It was overwhelmingly positive.
—A game ahead of its time! Surprising the world beyond Korea.
—To implement virtual reality so perfectly is truly a miracle.
—The company “Another,” which has achieved such realistic virtual reality, has 360 employees…
—A worldwide blockbuster! “Another World,” the first work of the company “Another,” has broken all records achieved by companies worldwide.
—Major corporations like N Corp and P Corp have revealed their ambitions to develop virtual reality games one after another.
—Beyond the simple limits of a “game,” it is truly a new world.
—”Another World” has achieved an unprecedented record of 65.55% market share in the gaming industry.
There were also articles stating that the connection rates of PC games have significantly decreased due to the next-generation connection device and virtual reality game called “Another World.”
Well, the technology for “virtual reality” games indeed existed in my original world.
VR, they called it.
However, most of the completeness was so shabby that it failed to meet the expectations of gamers hoping for “virtual reality.”
While there seemed to be technological advancements over time, compared to what I just experienced in Another World, it was laughable to even make comparisons.
Then, I inadvertently grimaced at the sharp pain that started to tingle in my mouth.
“No… I clearly asked for the mild level.”
No way this is less than a level 3 spiciness.
Since arriving in this world, I found that my appetite had notably increased, having ordered various foods. However, there were certainly some restaurants that didn’t properly check the order requests.

The popularity of Another World was immense, so the community sites dedicated solely to discussions about Another World were plentiful.
From simple game information posts and party recruitment to much larger community sites that were not interested in Another World but frequented by people due to the sheer size of the discussion.
The user base was truly diverse.
Among those, one of the large communities is called “Another Level.”
As can be guessed from its name, Another Level is a place where people who genuinely enjoy Another World gather.
No, in reality, it was a site where “gamers” who are partially obsessed with Another World congregated.
At the very top of the Another Level site, where the most viewed popular posts of the day were located, there was a controversial post with over a thousand comments.
—[How the hell is this not hacking?]
Author: Ashibal Jukdeunga
(In-game play video)
—No way, my accuracy is 99.4%, and yet not a single attack has been a clean hit.
In the end, after shooting arrows at point-blank range, this person deflected them with some pathetic weapon. Is that even possible?
Another World is clearly an online service game, so there are definitely “PAY TO WIN” elements, or in simpler terms, cases where one can buy equipment or character specs with real money.
Even if the game company tries to prevent it, there’s practically no way to stop cash trading among users.
And “Ashibal Jukdeunga” was quite a known user on the Another Level site.
A PK user who beats others using high specs raised through microtransactions.
Without a clear reason, he often preemptively attacked various users just because he bumped into them.
[What, did this guy get beaten by someone?]
[Serves him right, LOL.]
[But isn’t that character’s spec pretty high if he got owned this badly?]
[This place in the video looks like an Elf Forest, meaning that character probably has decent gear, right?]
[Forget that, but the character looks really pretty from the video. Who is the creator?]
[But the more I watch the video, the weirder it gets.]
[While some people do use parrying, it’s odd to see someone deflecting them this consistently.]
[But I thought there are only five hackers doing security work on the game’s engine; is there hacking?]
[There was once a hack before, I think it was an internal developer who got caught using hacks to boost his character’s specs, LOL.]
[That guy pretty much wasted all his salary on microtransactions, LOL.]
[At the end, he charges forward and pairs in the air four times; that’s undeniably hacking, LOL.]
[The weapon in the video is the Crescent Moon Blade, which was proven to be awful, so it shouldn’t be that surprising for the users to be taking those down already.]
