Streamer Crazy About Slaughter - Chapter 49
The Q&A session that followed did not last very long.
In fact, a ton of questions poured in from the chat window.
However, most of them were questions I didn’t want to answer, so I had to sift through to find the ones I could respond to.
Questions about my personal life kept popping up, and even though I was intentionally ignoring them, new viewers who seemed not to have heard my words kept asking about it.
It was practically a vicious cycle of “questions about my personal life > I’m not accepting questions about my personal life.”
Still, there were definitely questions I wanted to answer aside from those.
“The reason I chose the Crescent Moon Blade… to be honest, there’s not really a special reason. The original main weapon of the dancer class is just the Crescent Moon Blade, right? If the main weapon of the dancer class had been a great sword, I would have used a great sword.”
Saying that, I was 100% sincere.
The reason I chose the dancer character was simply that I thought the character design was the prettiest.
And in the Black Ark world, my character’s traits were related to the Crescent Moon Blade, which is why I used it.
Personally, I still remembered the heavy feel of the great sword I had briefly touched to get used to it.
[Great sword?]
[Dancer + great sword wow]
[So will you use a great sword?]
[The fantasy of a close-range class is a great sword]
[If you say you’re accepting questions, what does it mean if you selectively answer them?]
[The great sword is cool; you know a thing or two]
[For sure, there are many great sword users, and there’s a reason for that]
The chat’s reactions weren’t bad in their own way. Since I had established my broadcasting attitude and eased my mind, surprisingly, I was able to talk fluently, and there were no major issues in continuing the broadcast.
There were people in the chat who were annoyed that I wasn’t answering personal questions, but they naturally got muted…
Clink.
Clink.
Moreover, while I was solely focusing on interacting with the viewers, Sua was clicking the mouse beside me, continuously banning the malicious viewers one by one.
She said she would take full responsibility if it became a problem later while banning those evildoers, and despite her elegant appearance, the more I saw her actions and heard her words, the more solid I felt about her as a person.
Should I say I started to feel better about her the more I got to know her?
I naturally began to think that I should take care of her in return.
“Oh, and I really do use the Crescent Moon Blade, but I definitely don’t recommend it to the viewers. I’m using it now because I’ve gotten used to it, but there are far too many downsides if you touch it for the first time.”
To be honest, the Crescent Moon Blade was indeed a weapon with way too many downsides until you become skilled with it.
If someone could truly hone their skills over several years on the boundary of life and d*ath, advantages might appear. But brushing that aside, there was a reason unorthodox weapons were unorthodox from the start.
Just as there’s a reason why standard weapons are called standard, a typical user would see their skills improve much more intuitively with swords or spears rather than something different.
If someone were to ask me to choose a weapon now without any experience, I wouldn’t pick the Crescent Moon Blade.
“Oh, and now that we’re on the topic, I should mention that I can actually use other weapons too.”
[???]
[What other ones?]
[So can we see you using another weapon in the next broadcast?]
[Great sword, go go go]
[Great sword dancer? I’ll sponsor right away]
[I want to see you use a spear; do you know how to use it?]
[The dancer’s flower is surely dancing with a sword, right? Either dual swords or sword types would look really beautiful]
“I can handle most weapon types, if not all. At least at a level that’s not bad for you to see?”
I had enough confidence to say that boldly right now.
I hadn’t really dealt with ranged weapons much, but I knew how to handle most melee-type weapons.
I might have to learn the related skills anew, but simply using them shouldn’t be a problem at all.
‘Should I set a concept for a while?’
Suddenly, I got struck by that thought.
I definitely needed to use the Crescent Moon Blade against Sua, who was right next to me, or other top-tier challenger users, but thinking about my current arena tier, it didn’t seem bad to use a different weapon to improve my proficiency with it.
“I’ll go with a great sword dancer for tomorrow’s arena broadcast. It seems that many people in the chat want a great sword.”
Clink.
“…?”
Upon hearing Serin’s words, Sua, who had been busy moving the mouse and banning the malicious users, glanced over with a curious head tilt.
Since I had directly used the Crescent Moon Blade, I thought of how high the difficulty level was, so I believed I could handle other weapons as well, but still…
After all, a great sword?
‘Isn’t the type too different?’
Even with just a one-handed sword and a great sword, the operational methods are quite different, and since I had also touched the great sword out of curiosity, I remembered the completely different weight that made me give up.
Moreover, thinking of the lighter Crescent Moon Blade compared to the great sword made me wonder where this confidence was coming from.
And it seemed I wasn’t the only one having such thoughts. The chat started to get more lively.
[Will you really use it?]
[LOL]
[Great sword dancer for real?]
[LOL No one would use a dancer class with a great sword]
[It must be hard to handle a great sword because of the character’s basic stat adjustments, right?]
[What kind of combination is great sword + dancer class? LOL]
Seeing the chat filled with concerns, doubts, and disbelief, Serin couldn’t help but smile softly.
“Well, I can’t say I’m at the ranker level, but I think I should be at a level that’s not bad for the viewers to see.”
And I clearly remembered seeing a great sword user on the stream of Hana, who I had watched a few days ago.
A posture that was clumsy beyond words, unable to bear the weight of the great sword, only using skills.
Perhaps Hana’s viewers were among them? Anyway, I couldn’t recall the user’s nickname, but I heard that even that user was at the diamond tier.
Considering my arena tier was at the gold level, I didn’t think I would lose even if I wasn’t used to it.
Even if the equipment mattered significantly, the PVP correction was only 20%. If I merely switched weapons, my current equipment was still at a decent level, so I could manage it in various ways.
Moreover, reflecting on how I had swept through dozens of matches in the newbie segment, I thought that raising my tier using other weapons rather than the Crescent Moon Blade, even as a handicap, wasn’t a bad idea at all.
The more I thought about it, the better it felt.
“And for the next question…”
The subsequent Q&A session lasted about an hour.
During that time, the number of viewers surpassed 5,000 and continued to increase a little.
I didn’t feel any burden or pressure.
Rather than thinking it was difficult or arduous, it felt much more fun than I expected.
Since I had spent a long time alone, communicating and continuing a conversation with someone brought me a new sense of interest.
Even if it was hard to know the details about individual viewers, when there were thousands, their unexpected comments or opinions often felt refreshing.
“Ah, then I think I’ll wrap up today’s first broadcast here.”
I began to slowly conclude the broadcast. At this point, it felt like the Q&A had gone rather successfully.
Moreover, while Sua was helping me beside me, I couldn’t keep holding onto her forever.
Time had already reached 5 PM. Considering it was my first broadcast today, it seemed just right to wrap it up.
[???????]
[? Already?]
[No way, that’s crazy]
[Seriously, it’s insane]
[Are you really going after receiving that much support?]
[Plea, if you’re next to me, let me hear your voice!!]
The chat was filled with comments questioning how I could leave after receiving so many donations.
Thinking about it, it was indeed a bit unbelievable how much support I had received today.
In the donation settings, I had set the minimum amount to the highest amount of 50,000 won, so I expected not to receive any donations thereafter, but during an hour and a half of the Q&A session, I had received an astounding additional donation of 300,000 won.
Specifically, that was four donations of 50,000 won each and one donation of 100,000 won.
I had made a total of 400,000 won in just under two hours of broadcasting.
Was this the life of a streamer? I felt like I was in a truly abnormal situation.
When I turned my gaze, I saw Sua looking at me with a blank stare. Who else but a corporate giant streamer would come to help a new streamer set up a broadcast and offer such dedicated support?
It really just felt like I was unusually fortunate.
I turned to Sua and slowly opened my mouth.
“Actually, Plea, you should go back now. Since it is also my first broadcast… I think it’s right to end it here. Would you like to say goodbye to the viewers before ending the stream?”
“Yes, hello everyone watching? Actually, I was trying to help Lin when she seemed embarrassed about the broadcast, but she did even better than I expected, so I didn’t even have a chance to jump in. See you on my stream in about 4 hours!”
As expected of a corporate giant streamer, her way of greeting was smooth. I wrapped it up by adding a few words about my next broadcast.
“Then I’ll turn on the broadcast again around 4 PM tomorrow, so please come back to watch.”
After finishing that line, I saw the chat shooting up at a fearsome speed, but I didn’t bother to check the content.
Now that I had already finished the ending remarks, dragging it out any longer would only put us both in an awkward position.
—Broadcast ended.
As I pressed the button to end the broadcast, I completed my first stream.
“…Hah.”
I let out a small sigh without realizing it and leaned back in my chair.
Even though I still felt relaxed and thought the broadcast had been fun, I wasn’t used to speaking this much, and my body felt fatigued.
“Older sister Serin! You did really well for your first broadcast.”
Hearing her speak with an ordinary volume instead of the whisper she used earlier was somewhat cute.
“No, it’s all thanks to Ms. Sua helping me.”
“Come on, I was confused when I did my first broadcast. You handled it really well, especially your response to the chat.”
I felt somewhat embarrassed as she admired my face right in front of me, so I turned my head.
“Thank you for the praise. Oh, and would you like to have dinner here, Ms. Sua?”
Thinking about what I had received so far made me feel that at least I should treat her to dinner.
“Um, speaking of which, it’s about dinner time soon. Then I’ll gratefully accept.”
It seemed like she thought for a moment but in the end, didn’t refuse.
Confirming that, I nodded and stood up, stretching a little.
Sitting playing games and sitting while broadcasting felt different; my body felt stiff, so I loosened it up as I spoke.
“So, Ms. Sua, do you have any favorite food? I’d like to keep it in mind when ordering.”
She seemed to think for a moment and then smiled brightly.
“Well, I’m not picky about food, but I love spicy food!”
At those words, my body stiffened unconsciously.
I turned my head with a creak to look at her.
“…Spicy food?”
“Yes. I really love spicy foods! Older sister Serin! Do you like spicy food too?”
She asked, gulping, as if she had already started imagining some dish, and I couldn’t bring myself to refuse.
“I like spicy food too.”
“Right? Right~? Older sister Serin really knows what’s good! Among spicy foods, I love spicy pork trotters or…!”
