[TS] Formula One Streamer - Chapter 83
I ran with the thought of wanting to win, but I didn’t think I could win.
Even though we are all in the same rank, I thought it would be impossible to reach the points level in F5 since there are many users and the skill variance is clearly divided.
Honestly… I just hoped to finish within the top 10.
Then I could enjoy a circuit date with KING and Yooihyun.
If we became that close, we might even meet in real life someday.
KING: Just drive as I taught you. Then you will easily reach the points.
So I thought Yooihyun’s confidence was just encouragement.
Her warm consideration to not make the lowest-ranked me feel defeated.
Of course, it was only a matter of time before I entered the highest rank, F1, and since Yooihyun was set to debut as a driver for the real F1 Ferrari team.
She wouldn’t be unaware of the skill gap between me and the other participants.
Despite her tendency to push me away, she seemed like a warm person.
Yeah. I thought so until the race started.
But now, as I reach the end of a race that started without expectation.
Ku waaa!!!
Name / Time / Laps
① Haerari 1:53:955 50/51
② Rallyking 1:54:183 +0.228 50/51
– KING team’s student Haerari has finally defeated Rallyking and crossed the checkered flag!
– Wow, this is truly an amazing outcome created by KING and Haerari, teacher and student. KING’s concise coaching is impressive, and Haerari applying it right away is also remarkable.
[How the hell did this happen? I genuinely don’t understand.]
[What did Haeri do? I’m not being sarcastic; I really don’t get it;;]
[I just listened to KING, and before I knew it, I was on the podium.]
[KingHaeri! KingHaeri! KingHaeri! KingHaeri! KingHaeri! KingHaeri! KingHaeri! KingHaeri! KingHaeri! KingHaeri! KingHaeri! KingHaeri! KingHaeri!]
[Isn’t this the officialization of the circuit…? Thinking about it like this, KING is truly amazing. Young yet so solid, there’s just something.]
[Yooihyun’s teaching is great, but Haerari’s comprehension and execution are top-notch.]
[Is Yooihyun really only nineteen? Haerari is legendary. Yooihyun is unbeatable.]
[Wow, d*mn, they really took the pole position on the main Bahrain grid.]
[This event… might actually be fun…?]
《HaeriKING donated 100,000 won!》
-Wow! Podium! 1st place! Pole Position! KING Haeri! Haeri KING!
“Th-thank you. But how did I win?”
I was realizing that her confidence was sincere, not just consideration.
The story returns to the beginning.
From the formation lap that heats up the tires, I designed the race as she taught me.
Since it was a night race, I actively weaved left and right to maximize tire temperature.
It was for maintaining racing pace and securing grip in the chaotic early battles.
Surely… she mentioned how important it was to be nimble.
I stood in the 16th position on the randomly drawn grid.
It was an unfavorable grid for me, who was at a skill disadvantage.
The disadvantage felt greater since other drivers had higher rankings than me.
Usually, I wouldn’t be nervous, but this race had a date with KING at stake.
Even if I tried to breathe, my stiff body refused to relax.
KING: Don’t be nervous; try to stay calm. The grid position isn’t good, but if you cut into the right side or the middle line well, you can quickly gain a few positions.
Finding stability in my heart from her softly spoken words, the race began.
Vroom!!!
Vroom!!
Vroom!!!
As the red light that signals the start went out, the race cars surged forward, vibrating the quiet Bahrain night air with the sound of their engines.
Not too slow, not too fast; it was an average start.
She said accidents often happen at the start and that securing the racing line is priority, so I shouldn’t be too concerned about overtaking.
The first corner, which turns to the right, is connected with corners two and three.
She instructed me to focus on claiming the racing line rather than getting caught up in overtaking.
Swoosh!
Ignoring the race cars that shot out to the left side for overtaking, I dove into the inner track.
I did drop one position in the process, but the situation unfolded just as KING had explained.
Drivers who had moved to the left side at the sharply turning corner forced their way into the inside, causing an accident.
A total of 6 race cars got caught up in the incident, and I naturally advanced to 11th place as I passed them.
Had it been the old me, I would have been caught in the accident or started last due to being pushed to the left side.
KING: Focus on what you need to do right now. Creating your pace early on is the most important thing.
Yeah. Among drivers better than me, there’s no time to be distracted elsewhere.
Accidents are accidents, and my race is my race.
I quickly braked at the entrance of the first corner.
The sudden drop in speed caused my neck to jut forward, but I held my head high and looked ahead.
Traffic from the accident was somewhat alleviated which meant I didn’t need to worry about other vehicles.
Vroom-! Vroom!
I drove the race car as close as possible to the inside of the corner.
The upcoming corners two and three are shallow, so as long as I managed the exit angle from corner one well, I could gracefully weave through.
Vroom!!!
KING: Can you activate DRS? If you can, let’s turn it on.
Responding to KING’s voice, just after exiting corner one, I activated DRS and stomped on the accelerator.
It was cornering DRS, something I had never attempted before, but I felt like I could do it.
Click!
【 DRS Activated 】
The RPM soared in an instant, harshly whipping the engine and increasing speed.
I worried that I might lose grip due to my lack of skill, but perhaps because of the weaving during the formation lap and the sudden deceleration just before the corner, it was quite stable.
“Ah… so that’s why you told me to turn it on.”
I understood why I felt I could successfully use cornering DRS.
While the result of activating DRS is the same—achieving faster speed—the purpose for using it was different.
This time, it was for compensating what I had lost.
To cover the speed reduced from unnecessary braking due to unavoidable traffic at the start of the race with DRS.
I had enough grip to handle the turns, and since my deceleration was excessive, there wasn’t an issue with turning on DRS.
It could be considered an aggressive use of DRS for support.
I never dreamed of using DRS in such a supportive way.
“d*mn, seriously, the teacher is incredible…”
KING: Hey, I told you not to curse.
Feeling a thrilling surge of catharsis running down my spine, I darted past the race cars ahead of me.
I exited the corner like a snake, leaving those who crawled out behind.
According to KING, my escape speed out of the corner was incomparable.
From then on, overtaking and advancing began in quick succession.
One passed, two passed, and three passed.
It felt like a flow.
You know, when you’re on a winning streak, there’s a feeling of winning momentum.
How to gain the maximum benefit with minimal effort and how to reach the goal of victory the fastest.
I couldn’t explain it with words, but it was the winning formula that naturally appeared in my choices and gameplay.
I not only earned points but also climbed to a position where I could aim for the podium.
KING: Since you’ve pushed ahead, now you can start driving at your pace. Just as I taught you, you know?
“Yes, teacher!”
After that, there really wasn’t anything special.
I repeated her instructions in my mind for each number of the corners I faced.
Before I knew it, I was at 6th, then 5th, then 4th… and suddenly, 3rd place.
I was only listening to her advice, and yet I ended up reaching podium status.
Finally, when I completed all 51 laps.
Name / Time
① Haerari 1:53:781 🏁
② Rallyking 1:54:183 +0.402
KING: Congratulations. Instead of just points, you’ve won outright.
Overtaking the disguised F5 Rallyking fluctuating up and down F4, I received the checkered flag without knowing how.

<Wow, is this really happening?>
The odds were insane…
How did Haerari win? The operation had no technique to speak of.
Even though Haerari broke the lap record and the ranking was mentally wrecked afterward, is this for real?
In terms of ranking, it’s basically F6 and F4 though.
Indeed, Ferrari drivers are Ferrari drivers.
Yooihyun must be teaching extraordinarily well…
ㅇㅇ(233.18): Yooihyun is amazing. Young and has been playing ranked games for less than a month, yet F2 and even Ferrari’s second team? Pure talent.
ㄴ성이름*: For real, the detail in the circuit explanation today was insane. Basic yet somehow… it felt like she considers all possible variables. A god-given talent.
ㄴㅇㅇ(233.18): The people saying it’s luck or whatever should just go d*e. For Yooihyun, there’s nowhere left to improve.
꾸꾸까까*: She did teach the basics well. Even if Haerari’s physical skill is poor, her intelligence seems good enough for KING’s lecture to be perfectly understood. She just drove exactly as told, doing what she was supposed to and not doing what she was told not to.
ㄴ포창인생*: That’s true, but today’s results definitely prove that from F9 to F4, there’s hardly any difference in mental skill. Seeing Haerari, who physically isn’t strong, take 1st place shows that the class disparity was simply a matter of physical differences. Anything above F3 is basically the celestial realm, which is off the charts.
<Wow, I felt like my head was spinning after listening to KING's lecture, but after watching Haerari's race>
The race was mind-blowing.
Honestly, during the lecture, I thought, “Oh… I see,” but just having the knowledge was definitely helpful?
But after watching Haerari race, all I could think was “d*mn.”
All that talk about threshold fighting, trail braking, and all that nonsense was eclipsed by her handling of situations and her fluid race operations— it was truly chilling.
Was the impact of the basics this significant?
I realized that the races I knew were not real racing…
포린이*: I’m like that too… Is it okay if I just drop the “lin” now?
ㄴㅇㅇ(14.4): No. Once a porin, always a porin.
포린이*: Sigh…
ㅇㅇ(58.239): I make a prediction. Starting from today, the rank ecosystem is going to shift significantly. Until now, it’s mostly been mindless physical fights, but thanks to KING redefining the concept of racing and basics, I think there will be fierce mental duels to consider various factors from now on.
ㄴ적토마탄슈미허*: I agree, but sports heavily rely on animalistic instincts, so there are definitely limits to rising solely through mental skill. I am in awe when I see active F1 drivers, especially Max, Hamilton, and soon-debuting Yooihyun. I feel like there’s a wall I cannot surpass with these three.
ㄴ풀엑셀턴*: In summary, you need both physical and mental skills to be deserving of the title of king.
ㄴㅇㅇ(221.40): So Yooihyun has a chance of becoming a champion then?
포창인생*: Yooihyun achieving F1 champion status isn’t just a possibility; it’s a certainty.
