[TS] Formula One Streamer - Chapter 66
“……Just keep looking ahead.”
I thought I would hear irritated blame for running away from the broadcast without a word, but out of nowhere, he tells me to just keep looking ahead.
Seeing Kang Ho-yun’s serious expression and atmosphere, it seemed like he wasn’t just saying it casually.
He wasn’t a person to say something trivial in the first place.
Then there must be some reason behind him saying such a thing.
With nothing coming to mind except for the abandonment of the broadcast, I asked him back.
“Yeah…? Is there something going on?”
“Let’s talk inside.”
I followed him to the living room and awkwardly sat down on the sofa.
No matter how I thought about it, I didn’t feel like I did anything wrong, but it was a bit strange to feel like a criminal. However, he wouldn’t say this for no reason, so I had to comply.
Kang Ho-yun, sitting across from me, looked at me with a seriousness I had never seen before and slowly started to speak.
“Because you logged out and the viewers went into a frenzy, I had to ask the manager to find out what was going on. I called you, but he said you didn’t answer.”
“Ah, you called? I’m sorry. I should have let you know before I left, but I was so disoriented…”
I took out my phone from my pocket to check, and there were calls from an unregistered number.
However, it was in silent mode, and since the previous meeting wasn’t a regular one, I hadn’t even noticed the call.
Kang Ho-yun gestured as if he understood and continued speaking.
“The manager lives nearby. So, I had him check the officetel to see if something happened to you, and he said he saw you.”
“Me? Where?”
He saw me.
Could it be at the Starbucks near my house?
If that were the case, the manager couldn’t have failed to recognize that I was with Mr. Mattia Binotto.
“He said he saw you at the Starbucks in front of your house.”
Only then did I start to guess why Kang Ho-yun had said such things in front of the front door.
And the promise that I had made with him, which had been forgotten in my memory, resurfaced in my mind.
Recalling that, a late sense of guilt surged toward him.
I hadn’t completely forgotten that promise.
However, after first contacting Myung-jin and, therefore, Ferrari, I had been thinking that “It would work somehow!”
It was the time when I had been agonizing alone over whether to join Ferrari and the moments when I met Minotto and Myung-jin made me feel guilty.
“……I’m sorry.”
As if sensing my feelings, Kang Ho-yun nonchalantly replied to my words.
“You were with Director Minotto, right? That’s great, congratulations. Even though Ferrari is considered a has-been right now, it’s a decent team to start your career. Most people start from the bottom anyway. Of course, if you want, you could start with a better team.”
I didn’t know how to respond to his nonchalant attitude and simply nodded quietly.
“You don’t need to apologize. We didn’t even sign a contract, so it’s whatever.”
“Still…”
“If you keep apologizing, it makes me feel pathetic. So let’s celebrate what needs to be celebrated.”
If I were to argue, I shouldn’t be the one receiving comfort, yet I was being comforted by him.
Kang Ho-yun quickly wrapped up this conversation and moved on to the next issue.
“By the way, now that your personal information is all out in the open, it wouldn’t be easy to continue living here, would it? If the fact that you’re living here gets out, it would become quite noisy.”
“Yeah, probably? If two people of the opposite s*x are living together…”
“It would create a fuss. And since you’re a woman and you need to pursue a career as an athlete, it would have a significant impact.”
In fact, this issue was something I had considered even before moving into the officetel.
When I first moved in.
Despite my body being female, my mind was male, so I had no discomfort.
At the time, my KING account was also private, so I didn’t pay much attention to it.
Nobody would care if Yooihyun, who was just a pretty ordinary girl, lived with a guy or two.
However, the situation now was completely different from then.
Right after the climax of the KiwiChi Championship, during a live interview, I had revealed my identity.
“Celebrity? Famous person? I don’t know what to call it, but once you disclose your personal information, you are no longer just an ordinary person.”
Kang Ho-yun’s words were spot on.
Moreover, it was still just that I had made a name for myself around the world.
What would happen when the news got out that I had contacted Ferrari and that Director Minotto had personally come to recruit me?
Perhaps it could be said that I had already begun my life as an F1 driver.
“From the moment you contacted Ferrari, you’re already a driver.”
However, this was just the beginning.
Many F1 drivers were looking forward to meeting me in an official F1 event.
Manuel, Lando, Charles, Max, Hamilton, and so on.
Based on their words and actions, who knows how many teams may approach me in the future?
If that happens, I would become the first driver to receive love calls from numerous F1 teams even before debut.
That would mean attention not only in Korea but on a global scale.
I could affirm that I had lived my life as Jin Hyun-woo before Yooihyun.
A life of a talented genius driver is a very, very exhausting one.
In this world, where the influence of F1 is multiplied, it’s easy to see that it will become even more tiring than it was then.
“Should I go out as soon as tomorrow?”
“I think it would be better to go out quickly. It’s the same no matter which country it is, but at least in Korea, there probably isn’t a person who doesn’t know you.”
“Yeah. I need to find a place to live quickly. A one-room, at least.”
I worried about whether I could find a decent place before tomorrow, but I had forgotten.
The fact that Kang Ho-yun was born with a silver spoon.
“I’ll ask someone I know to help you find a place.”
Once again, it’s true that money can solve everything.
“Then I’d appreciate that. Could you please find a place that’s not too expensive? Just a one-room.”
Thanks to the prize money from the KiwiChi Championship and numerous donations (especially from the QUEEN), there was enough money to spend luxuriously, but I didn’t need a big house.
As long as there was a queen-sized bed that ensured a comfortable sleeping space and a place for Capsule for For One, it would be fine.
I wouldn’t stray far from that living radius.
Going out would probably just be for occasional walks or grocery shopping.
Reasons for abandoning the broadcast, joining Ferrari, future plans, etc.
Having shared all the stories I had to share, I tossed a new topic into the conversation.
It was something he would surely know much better than I would.
“Hyung, what can streamers do?”
It was about the work of a streamer.
“During the remaining time until the Ferrari test, we can organize events like this.”
“Hm…”
Kang Ho-yun turned on his phone, glanced at the schedule for a moment, and then handed me a paper listing various events organized by date.
There were many more items listed than I could think of.
I first looked over the things I could do as an individual streamer.
Ranking match climbing broadcasts.
One-on-one educational broadcasts for viewers and streamers.
Analysis of the 5th KiwiChi Championship KING race.
Participation events for racing.

Along with collaborations with other streamers, such as educational broadcasts and streamer participation matches.
The derivative content branched endlessly.
It truly seemed like content would never run out.
This was surely because the popularity of F1 was so sky-high thanks to For One.
The countless items listed created a sense of paralysis from choice, so I promptly moved on to the events at the platform scale.
“There’s nothing distinctly different except that the scale is larger, right?”
“Right. But the very fact that the scale is getting bigger matters. The bigger the scale, the higher the quality, and viewers like that.”
The events conducted at the platform level were variations of the content done by individual streamers, graduated to a larger scale.
For example, a one-on-one educational broadcast ends simply in education.
If it goes beyond that, it’s about making the student reach the rank they aim for.
However, in a platform educational broadcast, the level and scale were different.
Recruiting 20 streamers, each mentoring one student while conducting an internal competition like the F1 Championship to award prizes.
It was a structure that not only provided education but also stimulated competition through the internal competition system so that both streamers and students could participate passionately.
It was a well-utilized structure leveraging the characteristics of a huge community called a platform.
“You’ve thought this through well. Even just hearing about it sounds fun.”
“I also secured many fixed viewers through events like this for me and Sre. There are events that proceed as team matches, not just individual matches. There are also internal competitions among streamers only, excluding viewers.”
As Kang Ho-yun mentioned, there were events that took place within the platform.
Or completely separate platform battles as in partnership with another platform, Paprika TV.
Seeing so many exciting prospects, I felt sorry that there were only a few events happening in the remaining two weeks until the Ferrari test.
“I definitely want to try the streamer platform battle… but in June, I guess I can’t do it since it would clash with the F1 Championship?”
“They will be busy preparing for the event, but it’s not impossible. If you have the skills to juggle both a streamer and F1 driver’s schedules, what’s the issue? Just like you.”
“Ah…! That’s right?”
Why had I thought so foolishly that once I became an F1 driver, I couldn’t act as a streamer?
As he said, if I had the skills to manage both F1 competitions and streaming, wouldn’t that work just fine?
“I’m actually really good at this, huh?”
“……It’s ridiculous, but you’re right, so I have no arguments.”
It sounded boastful, but I was good at it, very good at it.
Well… that was a fact, wasn’t it?
“But won’t it conflict with the competition schedule?”
“You don’t have to worry about that. Also, because of viewership ratings, we deliberately schedule to avoid clashing with F1 competition dates. If they overlap, the viewership ratings would crash.”
Having resolved the schedule issue I was worried about, I began to scan through the neatly lined items from top to bottom again.
“There are so many that I’m not sure what to do.”
“It depends on the timing and topic. You can do anything, but since this is the time you’ll be in the spotlight, it’s better to look at platform content rather than individual content like ranking matches.”
“Platform content, huh…”
Looking at the platform section for events available in the next two weeks, I found two options.
One was streamer individual internal competition.
The other was that 1:1 educational and internal competition event I mentioned as an example.
The streamer individual internal competition was a short-term event starting next week and ending next week, smaller than I thought.
The education and internal competition event was a larger long-term project starting next week and lasting until the next month.
Both didn’t have any scheduling issues, but naturally, my mind leaned toward one side.
“This is going to be my first event!”
The individual internal competition was something I had already seen through as a one-on-one tournament all the way to the final boss, Max, so there was no excitement left in it.
There was no way any streamer could beat me in an individual competition.
If it were team-based, I would have enjoyed leveling up the team’s streamers, but…
That left me with only one option.
The education and internal competition event.
“But how do we find streamers to educate?”
“You’ll have to put in the legwork yourself.”
Finding streamers to educate.
This was my first task given to me as a streamer.
