[TS] Formula One Streamer - Chapter 30
After crossing over to this world, I had various experiences within the new and free framework called For One.
City racing in weather where rain fell and thunder roared.
Racing in a situation where the air flow was very unstable due to a distant sandstorm.
High-temperature racing hit directly by the sun’s rays with no clouds in sight.
If it were in reality, it would have been canceled a hundred or a thousand times, but I completed the race.
So I thought, “Now, I can handle any weather…”
But that was a mistake.
I had experienced racing in darkness.
Night racing.
Though it was called night, it was essentially bright because all the lights were on, so there was no distinction between night and day; saying I was cutting through the darkness was a customary phrase.
After all, isn’t there something called poetic license?
In any case, since it was indeed at night, it wouldn’t be a problem to express it as “cutting through the darkness.”
“Huuh…”
But right now, I was really cutting through the darkness.
If one refers to a state where you can’t see ahead at all as darkness, then it isn’t dark in the dark.
However, the pouring rain hitting the helmet shield to the point where I couldn’t identify what was ahead could be said to be a state just like darkness.
I sent infinite respect to the For One producers who had even implemented weather like this.
“What kind of weather has no upper limit?”
Even at the race start, the raindrops were thick, and as time went on, it turned into a downpour.
So I slipped, hit the fence, and received an unpleasant 10-second penalty.
I relinquished the lead to Yao-ming, who had been following me for 8 laps, and I decided to choose a haphazard method.
“Corner 2 center, corner 3 left, corner 4 right and left, corner 5…”
A crazy strategy to memorize all the places where puddles formed.
Though the surface was changing minute by minute and could seem meaningless, I thought it wouldn’t worsen or create more puddles.
So, I assumed the worst case and consumed a total of 6 laps from lap 8 to lap 13 to memorize the surface conditions and devised the optimal racing line.
As expected, there were no new puddles forming on the track.
I only needed to take special care in the continuous corners of sector 2 where I had slipped.
On lap 14, as I crossed the starting line, I closed my useless eyes.
The chat room was in chaos, but I did not give up at all.
Rather, I closed my eyes to win.
Because I had to trust my senses aside from sight.
If I opened my eyes, the raindrops hitting the shield would make my vision dizzy and disrupt my concentration, so I had no choice but to rely on my feel.
And I memorized all the trap points on the circuit.
For 6 laps, I memorized the locations of puddles on all corners and straightaways.
Left, right, and center, or from left to right, I memorized them all.
The total number of puddles on the left side was 43, the right side had 51, the center had 26, and the points where both ends connected were 17.
Thus, the total number of traps to avoid in one lap was 137.
I had to drive while avoiding all 137 puddles from the starting point back around.
“Left center right middle number 1, right left right 2, left right middle left 4, both right…”
[??? What are you doing?]
[Can’t you see? You’re casting a spell to win.]
[Hahahaha, is this that? Prayer meta?]
[Our teacher seems to have lost his mind in the pouring rain…]
[In front of nature, everyone is equal.]
[Nonsense about nature. Is For One a game or nature?]
[Clueless guy.]
[This old man stinks all the way here. Someone ban him. Oh, there’s no manager in this place.]
I glanced at the chat room, and as expected, it was a mess.
But that wasn’t it…
“Everyone, I’m not giving up. I’m not one to give up. Right now, I’m announcing the puddle locations for one lap starting from the starting line…”
What I muttered like a shaman were the sequential puddle locations starting from the starting line, and the numbers in between were the corner numbers.
However, the viewers sent cold reactions as if they were stunned.
[Now that I see, you’re a bit full of yourself.]
[Are you from the Hu-Gael?]
[You seem good at For One but not at being a streamer;;]
[My affection suddenly dropped sharply.]
[I’m done here.]
[You should just admit you’ve given up.]
As negative opinions flooded the chat room, the number of viewers started to drop rapidly.
Since it was the first broadcast, the viewers wouldn’t feel any attachment to me, and many came in out of curiosity about the user KING.
Just as it was easy for viewers to come in, it was also easy for them to leave.
Even though there were still more than a hundred thousand people, considering it was close to two hundred thousand, it was a drop of nearly half.
However, I didn’t care.
Someone said.
If you resolve doubts, it becomes certainty.
“As expected, you won’t believe me unless I say it. I’ll display the mini-map, so please take a look.”
I showed a mini-map where the positions were marked in real-time for the skeptical viewers.
And I began to chant again.
“Left middle left left 7…”

The auditorium of the For One Seoul branch academy.
The auditorium where all grades gathered was darkened by blackout curtains, watching the Kiwich 1:1 tournament.
– Waaaaaa!!!
The driver visible on the screen was Max Verstappen from Mercedes Benz.
He was overwhelmingly dominating the opponent ranked 109th in just 3 laps, leisurely enjoying racing.
“Oh, this is boring. The skill gap is so severe that it’s not enjoyable.”
“Right. It has to be close to be interesting. By the way, who are you watching?”
“I’m currently watching Sre, but he’s not making any comments, so it’s not fun.”
The students were turning their eyes away from the tensionless racing to find broadcasts of their preferred streamers.
Seeing this, the student supervisor clicked his tongue.
“I turned it on to let them feel some stimulation by watching a racer, and these kids…”
Even the student supervisor felt that Verstappen’s race wasn’t entertaining.
For the match to be fun, one of two conditions must be met.
Either the levels must be similar.
So-called low-tier battles, where poor performers are matched against each other.
However, the reason for showing Max’s race was solely that he was the highest-ranked driver in this tournament.
With last year’s champion Hamilton absent, Max Verstappen was considered the strongest driver and a likely champion.
If left to their own devices, the students would certainly watch unhelpful streamers like Sre instead of athletes, so showing them something to learn from was the intention behind this assembly.
However, if they obeyed well, that wouldn’t be a student.
“Supervisor, can we watch something else? Like Sre, perhaps Sre, or maybe Sre?”
“Can’t we watch senior Ho-yoon’s stream?”
“That’s right! Senior Ho-yoon is from our academy, so we should support him!”
The students, having lost all focus, were clamoring to watch races of other streamers.
“Can you be quiet? Cheers? Who’s going to cheer for you guys? Who will cheer for your lives? Only your parents and you can cheer for your lives.”
The supervisor retaliated strongly, but he too was beginning to feel the limits of his patience.
‘I think it’s boring too…’
That was not only a limitation imposed by the students’ outbursts but also a limitation regarding the fun of For One.
As the academy’s supervisor, he too was a passionate driver who enjoyed racing before he was a teacher.
Therefore, the student supervisor began to scour hard for streamers, laying down Kiwich.
“Let’s see… KING? Could it be that KING?”
The first name that caught his eye was none other than KING, a nickname that no one doing For One could be unaware of.
KING’s broadcast had nearly sixty million viewers, slightly less than Verstappen, but close in level.
As someone who personally liked KING, the supervisor couldn’t help but click.
Upon entering the room, he was surprised once by the rough stream of chat and again by the heavy rain falling outside.
The circuit was the notorious Baku City, and the weather was truly hellish.
“Wow, this seems impossible to drive.”
At first glance, it was a situation that would make anyone gasp.
Even KING, who usually excelled, had slipped in sector 2 on the 8th lap, which said it all.
After incurring a penalty for a crash, he was 9 seconds behind Yao-ming, and if Yao-ming played it safe, it seemed impossible to catch up.
Though the outcome was almost determined, the supervisor couldn’t bring himself to leave the broadcast.
Wouldn’t KING show something? Wouldn’t KING attempt something? Wouldn’t KING…?
Having consistently delivered creative and challenging driving, KING made the supervisor unwilling to give up hope until the very end.
However, as KING appeared to be slowing down and driving cautiously, the supervisor sighed and prepared to leave.
But.
-Left middle left left 1, right left right 2, left right middle left 4, both right…
Was he out of his mind? He entered lap 14 and continued racing while uttering words that made no sense.
– I memorized the puddle locations, you know?
The viewers pushed back, saying he was talking nonsense, and some even exited the broadcast.
‘He must be giving up on this race. Even KING can’t help it in a situation like this.’
No matter how good a driver is, if there’s no visibility, completing the race is impossible.
Just as the supervisor was about to turn off the broadcast,
– You sure have a lot of doubts. Let me turn on the mini-map for you.
KING activated the mini-map.
The Baku City circuit was simplified, showing white lines that indicated the track at regular intervals, with KING and Yao-ming appearing as small dots on the map.
– Waaaaa!!!
– Click!
– Swish!
– Whoosh!
– Crash! Bang!
The sound of tearing through the air, clicking paddles, and pressing the DRS button.
And the confidence-filled foot pressing the accelerator and brake.
Only the sounds were audible, but the student supervisor instinctively knew.
‘He’s racing. What is this…’
– Middle left left left…
The dot on the mini-map moved smoothly along the racing line as KING whispered.
Though it couldn’t be said he was fast under such terrible weather conditions, to be able to maintain such speed despite the terrible weather was unbelievable.
Now, he couldn’t help but believe.
KING’s assertion that he had memorized the positions of the circuit and the puddles.
“Teacher!! Please turn on KING!”
“Sir! KING! KING!!!”
The students began to scream, and the student supervisor snapped back to attention, displaying KING’s stream on the screen.
By now, he had already completed 14 laps and was onto the 15th lap.
Name / Time / Laps
① Tallent is all 1:45:223 +1.342 15/51
② KING 1:43:881 15/51
He was getting faster than the beginning.
– I told you. I memorized everything. I’m not lying.
“Wow…”
“He really memorized it all…”
“sh*t, this is insane.”
All the students, who had previously been indifferent to Verstappen, collectively gasped in awe.
