“Name is Yooihyun, age is nineteen, account is…”

I completed my tournament application while pressing away at my small smartphone.

The account I registered with is KING.

[KING#16007 – Registration Number 46785221.]

As expected with the numerous users, my registration number was soaring beyond ten million, nearing forty million.

There were no restrictions for participation, so everything from light users who casually enjoy For One to heavy users who have invested their lives in it were joining.

People participating for enjoyment and those competing for victory were gathering together, creating an enormous tournament scale that proved For One’s popularity.

“F1 is so…”

I was almost moved to tears by the overwhelming emotions.

F1 receiving such global attention.

While F1 was popular in my past life, it wasn’t anywhere close to the level in the world Yooihyun lived in, and in my hometown of Korea, F1 had even withdrawn due to dismal results.

But in this world, thanks to the game For One, F1 had become a global sport.

Moreover, I was the absolute champion reigning as a king in that global sport—how exciting could that be!

“Well, right now I’m not Jin Hyun-woo, but Yooihyun…”

What if my accomplishments vanished? My skills remain intact.

Today, laying on my unusually soft bed, I was lost in daydreams when my roommate Jihyun entered.

“What’s so good that you’re grinning like that? If you have something nice, let me see it together.”

She dropped her shower basket and jumped onto my bed.

The fragrant smell of shampoo from Jihyun’s wet hair and the sweet scent of her skin surprised me a little, but I acted as though nothing was amiss.

Jihyun, who was notably friendly, had snuggled up to me in my bed before, chatting while lying side by side, and even had shared the same bed to sleep.

Besides, Jihyun herself was quite a beauty.

“Until the Donghae waters and Baekdu Mountain dry up. May God bless us…”

Inwardly chanting the entirety of the national anthem, I was torn between feeling happy for Jin Hyun-woo or just feeling flustered—my head was about to burst.

“Are you going to participate in the Kiwitch tournament?”

She glanced at my arm as she stuck to me and checked her smartphone.

“Yeah. I already submitted my application.”

“Really? I mean, it would be odd for someone like you not to. I hear your name is already circulating in the community.”

“My name is circulating in the community?”

“Specifically, your nickname, KING. Didn’t you meet a streamer named Sre today?”

Sre… Sre.

As I recalled the many whispers I received while gaming today, one person stood out.

Someone who introduced themselves as ‘Speed Racer’ streaming from Kiwitch. Shortened to Sre.

They kept pestering me on voice chat, asking if that was my account, which led me to block them.

Since then, I received countless friend requests from various people and voice messages, making me completely block whispers due to the overwhelming influx.

“I think I met them at the Ranking Match Monza circuit.”

Even in F5, they had lap times close to mine, only a 7-second difference, so I expected they’d be a well-known streamer, but I didn’t expect Jihyun to know about it too.

“I heard you placed 12th overall at the Monza circuit. Sre’s stream talked about it, and the community is going wild looking for you.”

“People are looking for me? Is Sre that famous?”

“No! Sre is famous, but that’s not the point! It’s your record and the lap time at the Monza circuit causing all the commotion, you fool.”

I had been so focused on running the Ranking Matches that I hadn’t even thought to check the overall lap time rankings, but I placed 12th.

Is this something I should be happy about?

Though I was innately prideful about not being first, taking first place was still something I could achieve.

What troubled me more was hearing the community was looking for me.

When I gave Jihyun a puzzled look, she continued explaining.

“There’s a largewebsite called F1 Gallery, abbreviated as For Gall, where they’re comparing your records and rankings with race videos while digging up your information.”

While I didn’t expect this to happen, I had secretly hoped for it, setting my profile to private.

Given my skill, it was only natural to place in the rankings or lap times, so I knew it was just a matter of time before my name became known.

But now that it was unfolding, the timing was much earlier than I had anticipated.

At least I thought I’d land in the top tier of F3 or burst onto the scene after entering F2; who could have guessed I would end up making a name for myself in F5 by meeting a well-known streamer and having my stats scrutinized?

“I heard the server even went down because of you.”

“Is it really that bad…?”

Although the timing seems early, hearing Jihyun speak about it doesn’t seem entirely negative.

My skills combined with the luck of meeting Sre the streamer have definitely stirred up enough attention and raised my profile.

I must meet their expectations.

Clenching my fist as if to seize the opportunity, I resolved to practice fiercely until the tournament.

“Anyway, Hyun-a, I’m happy for you, but let’s go out on a date this weekend.”

Jihyun’s sudden invitation caught me off guard.

“Huh? I need to practice…”

“Practice moderately! You need to take care of your body while gaming. Look at your arms! Are you a person or a skeleton?”

Her sharp observation made me look down at my arms. What did I see?

My skin was fair and smooth, with a sheen, yet there was hardly any flesh—more like shining bones.

It was clear that the original Yooihyun hadn’t exercised, but since taking over as Yooihyun, I had been living entirely in For One, so it’s not surprising I looked like this.

Jihyun looked at me with pity in her eyes as she continued.

“I know you don’t want to go outside, but you need to get some fresh air and meet people. You can’t live inside the game forever.”

“Then let’s do that. But let’s not stay outside too long.”

“Really? You’re serious? No changing your mind?”

Why was going outside such a big deal?

When I agreed, Jihyun’s eyes sparkled with joy, looking like a child who got their favorite toy.

Seeing Jihyun’s intense reaction, it seemed that there was some hidden past concerning the original owner of this body, Yooihyun, that I was unaware of.

She went on her phone, searching for date courses and restaurants in Seoul while eagerly asking for my opinion.

“Shall we plan out today’s date course? Is there something you want to eat?”

“I’m fine with anything delicious.”

“Don’t just say anything; pick one. If you don’t say it clearly, we’re going for mint chocolate, which you dislike!”

“Mint choco?”

“Yes, mint choco.”

I wanted to shout that I was a member of the mint chocolate club, but I had no choice but to swallow those words.

In this body, Yooihyun was partially against mint chocolate.

Somehow, it felt a bit distant.

“Hyun, do you have time this weekend?”

While reviewing my driving records and providing feedback, she suddenly asked me.

Here, ‘she’ refers to Yooihyun.

Rumor has it that she’s the most beautiful among not only the academy but among all humans, yet she’s known for being quite melancholic and having a negative personality, a hikikomori.

But the rumors are half right and half wrong.

Jihyun’s face and figure were accurately represented, but her personality was quite different.

In reality, the Jihyun I encountered was very easygoing, adventurous, and a decisive leader among leaders.

That was evident from the first day we met; as soon as I appeared slightly complacent, she would say,

“Hyun, what are you doing? Do you want to stop learning?”

“Are you doing that again? Stop unnecessarily pressing the brake. If you do it one more time, I’m going to be serious with you.”

Being bold and, perhaps, even rude was her style.

However, when I showed her that I recognized my mistakes and was making an effort,

“That’s it, Hyun! You could do this so well! Try doing the same next time.”

“You’re finally getting better. In reality, it’s not easy for a regular person to brake that gently. It’s only easy for someone like me.”

She would express compliments abundantly.

Sometimes she would show a 4D or childlike behavior appropriate for her age.

“Hey, are you free this weekend?”

This junior and teacher, Yooihyun, asked me if I had time.

“Yeah, I have time. These days I’m not even broadcasting so I have lots of free time.”

In truth, I did not have much time because I had to prepare for the Kiwitch tournament, but if not, I would have to make time even if I had to pray to God.

“Then do you want to go on a date this weekend?”

“A, a date? With me?”

When my friends occasionally asked if I was going out to eat and talk with Yooihyun, I would wave them off while secretly feeling excited.

But now that she directly asked me out, my heart started racing.

“Yes, a date.”

“Great! Let’s go.”

Even in the game, I was so nervous that I could hardly speak.

Imagining what to eat with Jihyun or where to go.

“But… Is there a handsome friend around you?”

“Huh?”

“It would be nice if you could bring just one along. It would be even better if he knows how to play For One.”

Asking for a handsome senior to be brought along.

“Umm…”

Like a race car that can come to a complete stop in 4 seconds at 350 km/h, my mood suddenly plummeted.

While pondering how to repay Jihyun for all she had done for me, I found a good way through our conversation.

That conversation referred to the day I signed a contract with Kang Ho-yun, when she had asked how it had gone.

The good idea was to invite another friend of Kang Ho-yun’s for a double date this weekend.

Since Kang Ho-yun was tall and handsome, he surely had similar-looking friends nearby.

“Do you want to go on a date this weekend?”

While teaching, I suddenly recalled and asked him.

“That sounds good. Let’s go.”

He seemed excited about something, unable to suppress his smiling lips.

Feeling good, I took the opportunity to ask him if he could bring along a handsome friend.

“Sure…”

Suddenly, he grew limp like a race car whose engine just stalled.

Though we were both men, I couldn’t understand him at all.
