I threw a discreet look behind me at Koyuki and made a silent hand gesture off-screen.

If it had been someone else—like Ragu-sensei—I could’ve just brushed it off. But since it was Koyuki, I couldn’t exactly introduce her casually.

It felt too impersonal to say she was just a neighbor, and calling her a “friend” felt kind of wrong too—so I ended up telling the truth.

…Hopefully Koyuki wasn’t offended or anything. I mean, Ragu-sensei’s here too, and maybe it’d feel weird for someone like _me_ to be considered family?
