Now That I Have Become a Woman, I Am a Vtuber - Chapter 50
Miro 24 Hours - 2But why are you suddenly doing a 24-hour stream? Really, for us…?
“Ahaha, well, actually…”
Why am I suddenly doing a 24-hour stream?
No, it’s not sudden.
This was roughly planned about a month ago…
“Remember that other pledge I made? I never completed the full version.”
I managed about 90%, but completing the entire thing was a bit too much. And honestly, I couldn’t really get myself into the mood for practice.
I mean… didn’t I already play it enthusiastically during the variety show shoot?
It occurred to me later that if I were to play the full version on my personal stream, wouldn’t that make it a bit too definite?
With thoughts like that constantly popping up, I just couldn’t concentrate.
– “Same trick over and over, damn lol.”
– “I got excited for no reason.”
– “Well, at least you’re keeping some part of your pledge.”
– “Let’s just fill it up first.”
“Alright, for starters, 8 hours will be for sleep.”
Saying that, I filled the time from 12 AM to 8 AM with sleep.
– “???”
– “Why sleep… why?”
– “A 24-hour stream should be 24 hours.”
– “Isn’t sleep streaming banned on Twitch?”
“Eh…? Are you trying to kill me…?”
– “Eh, this nonsense.”
– “Hah…”
“I need sleep to maintain my energy levels, you know. Plus, the rules have changed, and now it’s allowed.”
Naturally, I had a long discussion with my manager about this 24-hour stream.
From how it should be done, to the potential for accidents and making sure everything was thoroughly prepared.
– “Hmm…”
– “Well, let’s see lol.”
– “Go on, fill it up more.”
After that, I filled the time for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
“And since I’ll be cooking all three meals, if I subtract about three hours, that leaves around 13 hours.”
– “What the heck, why is this like tax deductions?”
– “If you’re gonna do this, call it a 13-hour stream.”
– “I’m…”
– “Out.”
I thought it was reasonable, but public opinion was still harsh.
…Maybe I should’ve just practiced the guitar a bit more?
“Ah, can’t you all cut me some slack? Is it too much to say, ‘Why are you all so full of complaints?’”
– “Too much? Pfft, what nonsense lol.”
– “This damn… lololol.”
– “I’m just laughing at this point.”
– “I admit, Miro, you’re the top in shamelessness.”
– “If you want to succeed in streaming, you gotta have a thick skin, you know…”
“Alright, fine. Let’s do it like this.”
I pulled out a roulette wheel.
I’d already prepared it, but I acted like I was doing them a favor.
“Throw in whatever you guys want here. Whatever it lands on, I’ll add it to the schedule.”
Of course, I wouldn’t include any strange requests.
Still, it was a roulette wheel I’d made with some determination.
Even if it landed on a horror game or some other crappy game I didn’t want to play, I was ready to grit my teeth and go through with it.
– “Wow, lololol.”
– “Is this for real?”
– “I believe you.”
– “If you’re messing with us again, your wrist’s on the line.”
“I’m not messing around. Do I look like the type who would do that?”
– “Honestly, I can’t say you wouldn’t.”
– “Aren’t you the one who broke our trust?”
…? What did I even do?
Haven’t I been streaming pretty honestly?
[Thank you, JanginMiro, for the 10,000 won donation!]
But are you just gonna eat during the meal times and leave us hanging? Abandon your viewers?
“Ahem, I’m not that kind of cruel streamer. Of course, I’ll do a cooking stream while I eat.”
Since I’m back at my parents’ house, with a big kitchen and plenty of ingredients, it’s perfect for a cooking stream without any worries.
I may not know many recipes… but I can always follow one, right?
On the day of the 24-hour stream, Jang Yeo-sa and Manager Kim are going on a couples’ retreat at a hotel, fully paid for by their one and only devoted daughter.
That means I can stream however I want in an empty house.
– “Wow, lol.”
– “So wholesome.”
– “Miro gets wife approval!”
– “Become my wife.”
– “Hand cam, maybe??”
A hand cam, huh… I had a long talk with my manager about that in advance.
The manager seemed a bit hesitant, but the outcome was, of course, an okay.
As someone who knows me well, my manager had no reason to refuse.
“Of course, I’ll turn on the hand cam. I got permission.”
– “Wow, lolol.”
– “The great Miro.”
– “Are you really gonna do it?”
“What’s so special about a hand?”
Actually, it is quite special. There’s even an unwritten rule back home that you must wear gloves when using a hand cam.
But do I have anything to be embarrassed about?
I don’t do nail art or take special care of them, but I’m that woman, Kim Suhyun.
Obviously, having pretty hands is just common sense, right?
They’re the kind of hands often described as fair and delicate, ones that have never known hardship.
Sure, I have a few calluses from playing the guitar, but they’re hardly noticeable.
– “I was really counting on you…”
– “You look a bit different today…”
– “Taking a break really changed you.”
– “Take another 10 days off.”
“Really? You want me to take more time off?”
– “Hey, you jerk!”
– “Who said that?”
– “Never said that.”
– “Ban him, he’s a pest.”
“Now, now, no fighting.”
– “You’re the one who threw fuel on the fire!”
– “This guy, seriously, lol.”
“Anyway, we’re now taking suggestions for the roulette. Type them in the chat!”
As soon as I said that, the chat exploded like rain.
Since it had been a while since my last stream, the viewers had flocked in, and the chat was moving at a speed that was hard to keep up with.
“Don’t think, ‘Maybe I should just send it through a donation since it’s too fast to see anything.’ I’ll pause the chat and check it out, okay?”
I dragged the mouse to pause the chat.
Let’s see, horror games, rhythm games, long-playtime strategy games… Just about every kind of game suggestion came up.
I picked what I could see and added them to the roulette.
[Thank you, ᄋᄋ, for the 5,000 won donation!]
“Please do a singing stream.”
“Singing?”
– “Wow, lol.”
– “Sounds good.”
– “Please, just do it…”
– “Aren’t you going to match the rates?”
Singing? Well… I can add it to the list, I guess. I already sang once before, so there’s nothing to be particularly concerned about.
“I’ll add it.”
– “Are you really going to add that?”
– “Is today a day when everything goes?”
– “Damn, hold on, I’m loading my bullets (getting ready to donate) lol.”
“Not everything goes, so don’t get the wrong idea.”
It’s only for things I’m willing to do.
Ridiculous suggestions like jumping into the Han River or trekking across the country were simply ignored.
[Thank you, ᄋᄋ, for the 1,000 won donation!]
“Please pick a viewer and do a Rogue Squad stream.”
“Isn’t Rogue Squad better if it’s random? I’ll add it as a random option.”
– “Ah…”
– “No…”
– “It’s okay; I’ll just snipe (try to join the same game by queuing at the same time).”
“I’ll also throw in Random Duo as a bonus.”
Maybe viewers would prefer the higher chances with a random squad?
But I personally prefer the Random Duo.
With four people, the chance of encountering trolls is higher, so a lower-risk duo is better.
[Thank you, ᄋᄋ, for the 1,000 won donation!]
“Level up in LoL, lol.”
“Level up?”
Come to think of it, it’s been a while since I’ve played League of Legends.
I think I played it occasionally after becoming a woman, but lately, games haven’t been that appealing to me.
I find it more fun to stream, sing, or draw, so I don’t feel the need to play games as much.
Still, since gaming is a type of content for streaming, I can add it.
“Okay, I’ll add it.”
Other suggestions kept pouring in.
From art streams to the Ideal Type World Cup that I haven’t done in a while, casual chat streams, and even requests to enable video donations.
Video donations…
That’s the feature where viewers send videos through donations…
Isn’t there some risk with that?
I was worried about someone sending a weird video and getting my stream suspended, but I added it for now.
“Is this good enough?”
– “Looks good.”
– “There’s a lot of variety lol.”
– “Can we even see anything here?”
– “Please, just do a singing stream.”
– “Haha.”
– “But how are you going to divide the time?”
“Time division? That’s random too.”
I pulled out another roulette wheel beside me.
This one had times ranging from 10 minutes up to a maximum of 3 hours.
“First, we’ll pick the activity, then spin the time roulette. Sounds fun, right?”
– “Wow, lolol.”
– “This is intense, lol.”
– “It’s a real roulette!”
“Alright, shall we spin it?”
I quickly scanned over the content on the roulette wheel.
There were horror games, ARAM 5-man queue with viewers, the Ideal Type World Cup, League leveling, Royal Ground random duos, random squads, singing streams, rest breaks, watching video donations, drawing streams, Ring Fit, strategy games, and so on.
Basically, I threw in just about anything.
Now, the content of my 24-hour stream would be determined by this roulette.
Thankfully, with meal breaks in between, I won’t end up having to do things I dislike for 13 hours straight.
“Okay, let’s spin!”
The roulette spun, and my fate was decided.
On the Day of the 24-Hour Stream
This time, by request from The Six, the stream would be simultaneously stream on YouTube.
It seems they’re planning to gradually increase their activity on YouTube.
To be honest… Twitch has been a bit unstable lately, and if we’re aiming for an international audience, this might be the right move.
My manager mentioned that recently, some Japanese viewers have been popping up in my streams.
They probably came over from that random duo game with the Japanese VTuber.
Well, considering the language barrier, I don’t expect a huge influx, but still…
More importantly…
I took a deep breath to calm my nerves and pressed the “Start Stream” button.
[Miro 24 Hours On]
I wasn’t sure how many viewers would join.
Since it’s the weekend, maybe more than usual?
But if too many people show up, it might just be overwhelming…
Well, whatever. I brought this upon myself, so I just need to tough it out.
With that thought, I watched as the viewers started to trickle in.
“Uh. Uh.”
What’s going on?
For the first time since I started streaming, I was witnessing viewers pouring in at an unprecedented speed.
“What, what is this?”
The numbers were on a different scale.
This wasn’t the usual range I was used to seeing…
Four digits?
Ten thousand?
Ten thousand viewers?
And that’s just on Twitch.
What about YouTube?
“Whoa.”
Ten thousand here too.
A total of twenty thousand.
I let out a breathless laugh as I glanced at the date.
Today is going to be a historic day.
