Now That I Have Become a Woman, I Am a Vtuber - Chapter 20

My Fan Cafe

The recording of the debut song has been completed.

Starting with Maho and me, then Roa, Anna, Haru, and Mylee, everyone went to the studio in turn and completed the recording. With all the parts distributed and mixed, the song was quickly made in just over a week.

The music video is in the making, and once it’s done, it will be released along with the song, but the company is handling that entirely, so I didn’t pay much attention to it.

The song’s title is “Celestial World.”

We made it to fit the concept to some extent, but the lyrics are not much different from those of other girl group songs.

Should I say it’s a bit of a pure concept?

The song turned out really well.

The diverse voices of the six members blended harmoniously, enhancing the quality… or at least that’s the current evaluation. Honestly, it can’t be said to be entirely objective.

Even if it doesn’t become a hit, the song is good enough that people might still listen to it, right?

While pondering alone, I decided to get a third-party evaluation.

The person I chose was Hyejung.

She listens to a lot of music as a hobby and is quite social, so she should be able to tell if it’s good or not.

“So you want me to listen to the song?”

“Yeah, give me an objective evaluation.”

Hyejung made a dubious expression at my request for an objective evaluation.

“Can I really be objective?”

“You can’t show it to a complete stranger, that would a violation of the confidentiality agreement.”

“Not that, it’s not like a violation for me.”

“As long as you keep quiet, it’s fine.”

“Well, I’ll listen to it for now.”

“Here, put on the earphones. I’ll keep watch.”

“You’re funny, are we smuggling or something? Go fetch the drinks when they’re ready.”

Grumbling, Hyejung put on the wireless earphones I handed her. I watched her listen to the song and went to get the drinks when the pager buzzed.

Even as I placed the drinks on the table, I felt a bit nervous seeing Hyejung listening to the song with her eyes closed, concentrating. What if she thinks it’s bad? It’s too late to change it now.

Maybe I shouldn’t have asked at all? No, it’s better to face it head-on.

After a few minutes of waiting anxiously for Hyejung to finish listening to the song, she opened her eyes and nodded appreciatively.

“This is really good.”

“Really?”

Her words melted away the worries I had been carrying. Even if it was just flattery, it was still a relief.

“Yeah, and is this you?”

Handing me one of the earphones, Hyejung asked.

“Where?”

“About 30 seconds in from the start.”

Ah, that part was tough to sing. The composer was so particular about it… but in the end, it turned out well, so I can’t complain.

“Yeah, that’s me.”

“Isn’t that a bit unbelieving?”

“Why?”

“You don’t sound this good at karaoke, and your voice sounds different.”

She seemed surprised because my voice sounded different from how I usually speak or sing at karaoke.

Tsk tsk… that’s the perspective of an amateur, not realizing how varied a person’s voice can be.

“You think people only have one voice.”

“Don’t they?”

“Nope.”

“What? Is this a voice imitation?”

“This is what it means to use your voice.”

“Is that even possible? Can you do that while singing too?”

“I guess my range of sounds is pretty varied.”

“Huh…”

Hyejung looked at me with a bewildered expression at my versatile talents, and I couldn’t help but chuckle. I didn’t know I had so many talents either.

Did I have these talents when I was a man?

If I had known this would happen, I would have studied moderately and taken up many hobbies like Kim Suhyun.

“Anyway, the song is good. How should I say it? The part distribution is done well, and everyone’s voices are diverse.”

“Yeah, it’s enjoyable to listen to.”

“And who is this high note? It’s better than most singers.”

“Where?”

“Here.”

I wondered if it was my part, but it wasn’t. Honestly, I’m still not confident in my high notes.

“It’s Roa.”

“Roa?”

“Yeah, she’s a year older than me and sings well.”

Roa probably handled this debut song the most effortlessly.

She’s always been a good singer, and this song was practically her specialty.

Haru, Mylee, and I struggled a bit with the recording. I know Anna, Maho, and Roa finished their recordings quickly.

Learning at a vocal academy for a few weeks couldn’t compare to those who had been singing continuously until now.

“Still, I think your part is the best. It’s hard to tell because your voice is so varied.”

“Right? I almost died squeezing that out.”

“But now you know it’s possible? The composer must be talented.”

“Yeah, you can tell from the hit songs, right?”

“What are they?”

“Well…”

After hearing Hyejung’s review of the debut song, I felt relieved and chatted about various things before parting ways.

[The Dagger in the Bag (yet to be exposed) Miro]

Back home, I rested for a bit and then turned on the stream.

-Huh

-Long time no see, The Dagger in the Bag.

-Hi Miro

-What’s The Dagger in the Bag?

-Newcomers, stay quiet and watch

As soon as I started the stream, people poured in.

Thanks to the collaborations arranged by the company with big-name streamers, quite a few people joined even though I hadn’t been streaming for long.

Of course, it’s a bubble that will burst over time, but if I promote the debut song, the numbers should sustain or even increase.

“Hi, nice to see you.”

-What are you doing today?

-When does the song come out?

-When are you playing ranked LoL?

-Did you level up?

“I haven’t decided what to do today… Oh, I leveled up a lot. I’ve been playing with other members.”

My level went up quickly after i purchased experience boost.

At this rate, I might see the first ranking matches by next week.

[ᄋᄋ, thank you for the 10,000 won donation!]

-What rank do you aim for, in rank?

“Thank you for the 1,000 won. Rank? Since it’s my first Ranking, it should be quite high, right?”

I should reach Platinum quickly since I already have the skill.

Come to think of it, I haven’t played solo ranked on my main account because I’ve been leveling up my streaming account. It’s less stressful to play casual games with the members than solo ranked on my main.

-I predict a silver rank.

-Looking at their game records, they seem pretty good.

-Judging by their performance last time, they’re around Gold 2 level.

“You’re underestimating me too much. I’m not that bad.”

-Wanna bet?

-Aren’t you the one underestimating?

“Bet? What should we bet on?”

[Master Miro, thank you for the 10,000 won donation!]

-If you fail, you’ll play a horror game. If you reach Platinum, 100,000 won.

As I was contemplating the bet, the che, who I hadn’t seen in a while, readily suggested a topic.

“Chairman, thanks for the 10,000 won donation! A horror game? Sure, no problem.”

I’m not particularly immune to scary things, but I readily accepted the bet. I’m confident I won’t lose, and backing out here would disqualify me as a streamer.

-Wow

-Accepted lol

-5-minute standby ON

-We’ll be waiting~

The chat went abuzz at the mention of playing a horror game if I fail.

Do they really like horror games that much?

“Snipe me? Go ahead, but don’t get embarrassed.”

I’m serious. Who am I? A player in the top 3%. I can carry and win Rank matches with ease.

-???:

– Go ahead, snipe~

-You said to do it

-Get ready lol

“Anyway, let’s talk again when I reach the Rank match level. Finally, the song recording is finished.”

-….?

-When will it be released?

-I already heard it yesterday on Anna’s stream lol

-Do you think I’ll praise some crappy original song? Lol

(Deleted message)

“Ugh.. You, get out.”

There was a message that crossed the line, so I banned them immediately.

“If you slander my debut song in my stream, you get banned.”

The song involves many people from the company and the members. Criticizing it without even listening is grounds for a ban.

Even though my viewers are known for their rough language, there are rules they must follow.

-Gasp

-Gasp

-Gasp

-(Opens notepad)

“Yeah, write it in a notepad, not in my stream. If you’re wondering when the song will be released, why not check the official café set up by The Six?”

-But that place…

-It’s no fun because of all the prudes

-O O

“Calling them prudes? Aren’t you guys the troublemakers?”

-(Opens notepad)

-Osihen (meaning to leave oshi)

-Just check and start the stream, please.

“Check and guide them? Well, I’ll tell you when the manager informs me.”

-Good.

-Let’s do well.

-We have a manager, and we’ve succeeded, haha.

I can let this much slide, so I overlooked the arrogant chat from the viewer.

I have no intention of getting into a power struggle with a viewer. We help each other.

[Stationery Eraser Thief Maze, Thanks for the 1,000 won donation!]

-But do you know there’s no fan of yours in that cafe? Haha.

“What? What do you mean by that?”

-Hahahahaha

-Hahahahaha

-LOL, none.

-I also left because there were too few people on the bulletin board.

-I got banned.

Seeing the chat, I checked out the cafe just in case.

It wasn’t long since it was created, but it was running well with some members…

I checked the boards for each member as the viewers said.

Anna, Mylee, Maho, Haru, Roa.

Every board was being updated every few minutes. For an early fan cafe, it was quite active, but only my dedicated board was barren.

The only recent posts were ones trying to attract attention because I entered the cafe from the stream.

“Why is it like this?”

-Got banned, haha.

-They say no swearing.

-It’s boring as hell, haha.

-You don’t post in the cafe either, you jerk, haha.

“Do you guys chat like in my stream in the cafe too?”

-How else should we do it?

-Just like a community.

-Why should I follow the rules?

-Change the rules only for your board.

Seeing the brazen chat, I held my head.

“Ah.. this is a disaster.”

It looks like my stream is going to become an isolated island.
