Now That I Have Become a Woman, I Am a Vtuber - Chapter 169

Crossroads (2)

It had been a few days since my new song was released.

With all the expectations surrounding it, the results… weren’t quite what I expected.

I thought it would do well since the song was good, but…

I casually checked the music chart rankings.

[#25 – Crossroads]

Straight to 25th place…

I really just surpassed Celestial Realm’s record, huh?

This might actually turn into a case of the tail wagging the dog.

“Mirror” as an artist was growing way bigger than I had anticipated.

Should I just come clean about it on stream? Contract or not…

Actually, The Six is probably celebrating right now.
They recruited me just a year ago, and now I’m blowing up.

Not to mention, this isn’t Miro—this is Mirror, a solo artist debuting and immediately charting.
It feels like a whole new door into the entertainment industry has opened.

According to my producer, I even have talk show offers coming in.

But honestly…

I feel like I belong more in the VTubing world than in the entertainment industry.
Hours of filming with a full production crew?

I’d rather stay cozy in my soundproof booth and play games in peace.

Not that I need the money—I’m already making plenty.
Stream donations aren’t that huge, but YouTube revenue? That’s an entirely different story.

Well, that’s something to think about later.

For now…

“I should start getting ready.”

I had plans today.

After finishing my preparations, I stepped outside.

The crisp winter morning air stung my face as I waited.
Before long, a black van pulled into the alley.

They’re early.

The van came to a stop, and the door slid open.

Inside, I saw two familiar faces—Ahyoung and Kang-hyuk.

The rest of the band couldn’t make it today, so the three of us were heading to Hyunsoo’s graduation together.

“Hey, you’re here! It’s freezing, isn’t it?”

“….”

…These insane people actually wore school uniforms.

I mean, Ahyoung is kind of baby-faced, so it’s almost passable.
Even with her red-dyed hair, I can kind of see it.

But Kang-hyuk?

I glanced at the driver’s seat, locking eyes with him.

“What?”

“…Nothing.”

He had a shaved head, was built like a tank, and yet, he was sitting there in a school uniform.
He looked like a delinquent about to take over a rich kid’s school.

Are we going to get kicked out before we even step inside?

“Suyeon, you actually look like a high schooler,” Ahyoung remarked, eyeing me up and down.

Her uniform was way too tight. Did she tailor it to fit like that on purpose?
She’s in her late twenties, right?

And yet, here she was, confidently wearing a high schooler’s uniform like she had never left.

“I mean, I was a high schooler just a couple of years ago.”

Of course, I was also wearing a uniform.

It just seemed like fun.
I mean, how many chances do you get to crash someone else’s graduation in a school uniform?

“Wait, is that Hyunsoo’s school cardigan? When did you get that?”

“Oh, this? I took it from him when we first met.”

“Took it?”

“There’s a story behind it.”

I had layered Hyunsoo’s school cardigan under my winter coat.
Thinking back to our first meeting, I never would’ve expected things to turn out like this.

“Wow, if you walk into his school like that, they’ll definitely think you’re a student.”

“Maybe.”

“Damn, the confidence.”

And with that, the three of us, looking like the weirdest group of high schoolers ever, got into the van and headed to Hyunsoo’s school.

“We’re here. Get out. I’ll go park.”

When we arrived, I was genuinely impressed.

“Hyunsoo’s school is insane.”

“…Yeah, it is.”

I nodded at Ahyoung’s words.

I knew it was an expensive private school, but seeing it in person was a different experience.
It was nothing like the public high school I had attended.

No wonder people call Hyunsoo a rich-kid-genius-musician.

“Are you sure there won’t be reporters?”

That had been my biggest concern ever since Ahyoung suggested this plan.

“Don’t worry. Even if they show up, they won’t be allowed inside.”

“Really?”

“Yeah. No way a school like this would let the media ruin their graduation ceremony.”

Well, that’s true.

This isn’t an entertainment high school—it’s a rich kid school where Hyunsoo just happens to be the only celebrity.
There’s no reason for the press to swarm the place.

“Still, there might be a couple lurking around, so let’s not get too careless, okay?”

“So there are some?”

“Yeah, but they won’t be able to get inside.”

That made sense.
Even if reporters wanted to sneak in, the school would never allow it.

Meanwhile, we were allowed in because Ahyoung had arranged for us to be registered as Hyunsoo’s “guardians.”
Of course, the school had no idea we’d be showing up in uniforms.

As we approached the front gate, a middle-aged teacher stood nearby.

“Hello!”

Ahyoung, completely unbothered by her own ridiculous outfit, greeted her with a cheerful wave.

“…Oh, um… what brings you here…?”

The teacher’s eyes darted between Ahyoung’s obvious adult features and her high schooler’s uniform.

It was clear she was very confused.

“We’re here as Hyunsoo’s guardians!”

“Oh, for… Lee Hyunsoo?”

“Yes, that’s him!”

“Oh, but I was told there would be two women and one man…”

“Ah, the man is—oh! He’s coming now!”

Ahyoung pointed toward Kang-hyuk, who was casually walking toward us after parking the van.

And wow.

With his shaved head, towering frame, and school uniform, he looked like he belonged in a completely different setting.

Maybe… a gangster movie.

“…Okay, yeah, this was a bad idea.”

Even Ahyoung seemed to realize, belatedly, how absurd this looked.

“You’re just now realizing that?”

“…Ahem. Anyway, all three of us are here for Hyunsoo.”

“…Alright. I just need to confirm your names.”

The teacher still looked doubtful, but after a quick identity check, she let us through.

Now that we were inside, the weight of what we had just done hit me.

This was way more embarrassing than I thought it would be.

The school lobby was full of well-dressed parents waiting for their kids.
They were all in suits or formal wear…

And then there was us.

Wearing school uniforms.

All eyes immediately turned toward us.

But, as expected…

Most of those stares quickly landed on me.

“…This is a nightmare.”

My face started to heat up.
Of all times, why does my appearance have to stand out now?
