Now That I Have Become a Woman, I Am a Vtuber - Chapter 150
2nd Generation (2)Han Yaeun.
A person I met at a vocal academy while preparing for a K-pop duet with Tenshi. She was cheerful and likeable, so I thought we might as well exchange numbers. But… could she actually have joined Celestial Realm as a VTuber?
If so, it explained a lot of the questions I’d had about her back then.
“What’s up?”
Maho’s voice pulled me from my thoughts.
“Oh, nothing.”
On second thought, does it really matter if Haeun is Yaeun? It’s surprising, sure, but it’s not like it changes anything. If anything, it’s a good thing—her personality and talent make her a solid addition to our ranks.
“Just got lost in my thoughts. Let’s keep watching.”
“It’s almost over.”
“Ah.”
Since this was a relay debut stream, each member only streamed for a short time. Haeun’s turn was already wrapping up. The final debut of the day was starting soon.
Her name? Haeil.
Interestingly, her name was somewhat similar to Haeun’s, though it evoked a completely different image. Judging by the character design, it seemed to be inspired by the idea of a tsunami—a vast, unstoppable wave.
[Hello, everyone!]
Her character appeared on screen, sporting flowing, ocean-blue hair that shimmered like waves under the sunlight.
“Whoa, this model,” Maho said, her voice tinged with awe.
“Seriously.”
Even I had to admit—this was stunning.
The bar for 2nd gen VTuber character design was incredibly high. Seeing these designs made me feel like Celestial Realm had really spared no expense this time around. Compared to them, our 1st gen models… were starting to look a little dated.
Not that our designs were bad—far from it. But the 2nd gen models were on another level. Maybe it’s time I request a proper remake for myself.
[Let me introduce myself!]
Haeil began her introduction, following the same structure as the others: basic personal details, fun facts, and her special talent.
I tuned in with growing curiosity.
Seolha’s specialty was drawing.
Haeun’s was singing.
What about Haeil?
My anticipation grew as she reached the highlight of her introduction.
[My special talent is… gaming!]
Ah, gaming. Not what I was expecting, but definitely an important skill in our field.
As a fellow VTuber who’s often been praised for my gaming skills, I can appreciate the significance of having another gamer in the team.
[From AAA titles to indie games, I’ve got it all covered!]
Haeil’s confident declaration piqued my interest.
All games? Really? Does this mean I can finally hand off the burden of Civilization VI or Three Kingdoms? My streams for those games were iconic but exhausting, especially when the viewers demanded endless hours of scheming and battling.
[Alright, I’ll see you in the next stream. Thanks for watching!]
With Haeil’s debut complete, Maho stretched her arms and let out a satisfied sigh.
“Well, that’s everyone for today.”
“What did you think?” I asked.
“Of the new recruits?”
“Yeah.”
Personally, I was impressed. All of them seemed talented, charismatic, and full of potential. They’d definitely carry the Celestial Realm name with pride.
“They were great. I can’t wait to collaborate with them.”
“Same.”
Excitement about future collabs filled the room as we cleaned up.
“I should get going,” I said as I glanced at the time.
“You could just stay the night,” Maho suggested. “We’re watching tomorrow’s streams together too, remember?”
True, the second batch of debuts was happening tomorrow. But…
“I live close by, though.”
“Fine, fine.”
Maho pouted, puffing out her cheeks in exaggerated disappointment.
It was… oddly intimidating. Unlike Tenshi, whose pouting was more adorable than anything, Maho’s larger build made it feel more like an actual threat.
“Oh, by the way, Roa’s coming tomorrow.”
“Roa?”
“Yep.”
Roa rarely joined group hangouts like this, so hearing that she’d be here was surprising.
“Cool.”
I had no problem with more company. With that, I said my goodbyes and headed home.
The Next Day.
On my way to Maho’s place, I spotted a familiar figure walking ahead of me.
“Suyeon?”
It was Roa.
“Heading over?” I called out.
“Yeah, funny running into you here.”
Roa was someone I still found a bit hard to get used to. While her VTuber persona was sweet and delicate, the real-life Roa had a much more serious vibe.
Most VTubers had some gap between their online character and their real selves. I was no exception—my on-stream energy was far higher than my usual demeanor.
“Let’s head in together.”
“Sure thing.”
As we walked, I noticed something different about her.
Her hair had grown longer, now grazing her shoulders in a soft bob.
“You’ve grown it out, huh?”
She used to have a short, almost pixie-like cut.
“Yeah, figured I’d try something new.”
The hair wasn’t the only change. Her piercings were gone, her makeup was softer, and her overall look felt… gentler.
“You look great,” I said sincerely.
“…Really?”
“Yeah. Though I liked your old look too.”
Roa had always carried a certain coolness that felt effortless. Her old style—edgy and a bit rebellious—suited her just as well as this more refined appearance.
“Which one’s better, then?”
“Well… the present always wins.”
It wasn’t a lie. While I liked her past look, what mattered most was how comfortable she felt in her current style.
When we arrived at Maho’s apartment, she opened the door almost immediately.
“Oh, you two came together?”
“We bumped into each other outside,” I explained.
“Lucky timing. Come on in.”
The setup was much the same as the day before—snacks, a comfy couch, and Maho’s laptop ready to stream the next batch of 2nd gen debuts.
The couch, however, was not designed for three people. Once Maho joined us, it was clear we were a little too close for comfort.
“Let’s start,” Maho said, launching the first stream of the day.
First up was Habin.
As soon as her stream began, I felt a pang of awkwardness.
“What’s wrong?”
“Oh, right, Suyeon had that interview with her,” Maho said, catching on.
I quickly waved off their concerns.
“It’s nothing like that.”
Habin hadn’t done anything wrong. If anything, I was the one who’d been a bit clueless during our meeting.
Still, there was a lingering awkwardness from that day—especially since she’d ended up giving me advice. How was I supposed to act around her now?
Habin’s avatar appeared on screen: short, bright purple hair, a stylish cap, and a streetwear-inspired outfit.
“Looks familiar,” Maho noted.
“She’s sticking with her original design, huh?”
Unlike the other 2nd gen members, Habin had carried over her character’s design, name, and backstory from her 1st gen audition. It was a smart move—it gave her a unique narrative of perseverance and redemption.
The chat loved it.
While her model wasn’t as visually extravagant as the others, her story more than made up for it. And her streaming skills? Polished to perfection.
[As for my special talent… I rap.]
“Oh?”
“Interesting.”
“Exciting,” Roa added, her eyes lighting up.
“Wait, you like rap?” I asked.
“Yeah, love it. Big fan of hip-hop.”
“Why don’t you rap on stream?”
“…Doesn’t fit my character.”
Fair enough.
Now I really wanted to hear her rap someday.
After Habin’s debut wrapped up, next in line was someone I’d been both dreading and anticipating: Seo Eunha.
Would she be as reserved as she seemed during our meeting?
As her stream started, soft, mysterious background music played.
The vibe was completely different from the others—calm, enigmatic, almost ethereal.
“Feels… mystical,” Maho remarked.
“Yeah, like stargazing.”
Eunha’s avatar emerged, and I froze.
“Whoa.”
“Holy….”
Her model was breathtaking. Deep violet hair that shimmered like the cosmos, eyes that sparkled like distant stars—it was a visual masterpiece.
“Are you kidding me?”
Compared to her, even the other 2nd gens’ designs seemed almost plain.
I was awestruck. And slightly annoyed.
“Why wasn’t I given this level of detail?”
Today’s stream wasn’t even over yet, but I was already planning to call the management team.
It was time to demand my own remake.
