Now That I Have Become a Woman, I Am a Vtuber - Chapter 131
Watch Party[Miro’s Movie Date]
- ???
- What’s with the title?
“Alright, today’s the day we do a watch party!” - Ah.
- Return?
- You haven’t watched that yet?
“Hey, no spoilers!”
Being a ten-million-ticket blockbuster, plenty of viewers had already seen it.
Still, I figured more of my audience hadn’t. It wasn’t like we were watching some mainstream anime.
“Any spoilers will get you banned. This is a subscriber-only chat, so let’s keep it classy.”
- LOL okay
- Got it.
- Anyway, the ending is…
To minimize any trolling, I’d made the chat subscriber-only.
“Everyone has the movie ready to go, right?”
Since I can’t stream the movie directly (copyright laws, you know), the plan was for viewers to play it on their own devices. I’d display a timer on my stream, so everyone could sync up and watch together.
- Wait, we have to buy it?
- NoNoTV has it.
- B…buy?
- Found it for free here.
- Watching my “totally legit” downloaded copy.
“Well, I wouldn’t know about that. I’m watching it on an OTT service like a good citizen.”
- LOL sure, Miro.
- Must be nice being rich.
- Absolute sucker.
…Okay, maybe I am a sucker. Whatever.
“Anyway, get your snacks ready!”
- Just ordered fried chicken.
- Did you get anything?
“I had a big dinner, so I’m good.”
Movie: Return
I kicked off the movie with a timer at the bottom of the stream screen.
“Alright, starting now.”
The screen opened with a view of Earth, the vast emptiness of space surrounding it. Floating among the stars was a sleek space station: Korea’s own Shelter-17.
“Oh, a space station.”
- That’s the Korean one?
- DAE HAN MIN GUK
- Epic vibes.
The camera zoomed in, revealing a transparent window with a man staring out at the Earth.
- Damn.
- Look at this guy.
- He’s way too handsome.
- Ugh, disgusting.
The man, of course, was Moon Chang-sik.
It had been a few years, but he looked younger here—fresh-faced and earnest.
[“What are you up to, Kang-seok?”]
An older man walked up, throwing a friendly arm around him. His warm demeanor screamed “veteran actor.”
[“Oh, just looking at my sister’s photo.”]
[“Ji-yoon? Man, you really dote on her. My sister’s always bugging me for money.”]
[“Haha, well, there’s a bit of an age gap. I just find her adorable.”]
“This screams ‘emotional bait.’”
- LOL.
- Predictable.
- Setting up for tears later, huh?
“You can already see it. He’s gonna nearly die, then dramatically reunite with his sister on Earth. Classic.”
As the story unfolded, we were introduced to Kang-seok’s colleagues aboard Shelter-17 and his family back on Earth. The little sister, Ji-yoon, was a standout. Her wide-eyed wonder and natural acting caught my attention.
“She’s good. Future star?”
- Yup. She got big after this.
- This movie launched her career.
The inciting incident came soon enough: the appearance of asteroid K-5112, hurtling toward Earth.
Complicating matters, Shelter-17 was directly in the asteroid’s path. The government decided to reposition the station to act as a buffer, minimizing damage to Earth.
“Can they actually do that? Use a space station to stop an asteroid?”
- Probably not.
- It’s a movie, Miro. Just go with it.
“I feel like blowing up a station worth trillions is overkill. Maybe just… aim the asteroid at the ocean?”
The situation escalated when Kang-seok, unaware of the political maneuvering behind the scenes, took it upon himself to manually stabilize the station’s position. His colleagues evacuated, but he stayed behind, ensuring the mission’s success.
“Here it comes… BOOM.”
A massive explosion rocked the screen as the asteroid collided with the station. The visuals were stunning, the CG top-notch.
- RIP.
- He’s toast.
- A true hero.
“Relax. He’s not dead. The movie’s barely halfway through.”
Predictably, Kangseok survived, floating in a cramped emergency pod with limited oxygen and power. His colleagues on Earth scrambled to organize a rescue mission, facing bureaucratic hurdles and public apathy.
By the time the rescue mission launched, Kang-seok was on the brink of death. His final message to Ji-yoon was gut-wrenching.
[“Jiyoon, I’m sorry…”]
The pod’s lights dimmed, leaving him adrift in the cold darkness of space.
“Is this it? No way.”
Checking the runtime, I saw there were 15 minutes left.
“Still time. Not over yet.”
As expected, the rescue team found him just in time.
Against all odds, Kangseok was pulled from the pod, frozen but alive.
The movie ended with an emotional reunion between Kang-seok and Ji-yoon. Tears flowed as she clung to him, and I found myself sniffling.
“Damn, she’s good… I’m not crying, though.”
- Miro’s crying!
- LOL gotcha.
- Admit it, you’re bawling.
“Nope. Just some… dust in my eye. That’s all.”
The chat exploded with laughter, but I ignored them.
I wasn’t crying. Not really. It was just good acting… and maybe a little bit of onion-like emotional manipulation.
That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.
