Surviving as the Youngest Among Giant Vtubers - Chapter 60

First Vlog (Overseas)

It’s been one day since I arrived at EN Märchen.

Today, JP was scheduled to give a lecture first.

The lecturer was, of course, Auka, and the audience consisted of the new EN outfit illustrators.

Naturally, the outfit illustrators from each Märchen branch could also attend the lecture.

I sat in a dark corner seat and listened to Auka’s lecture.

For reference, I was currently alone.

Tsupi was still lying asleep in the hotel, and Manager Park Kihyuk and Manager Kang Sowoon didn’t come because they knew nothing about this field.

My assistants, Jiwoo and Yuri, came into the lecture hall with me, but we decided to sit separately.

The seats were arranged in pairs, so it seemed better to let the assistants sit together.

‘The style is similar, but the method is a bit different.’

Listening to Auka’s lecture, I thought about various things.

What differences there were compared to my illustrations, what it would be like to draw this way.

I was running simulations in my head.

Of course, I was only imagining it; I have no intention of changing my current style.

Like it or not, the outfits and avatars already had an established place, so if I changed things now, avatar production would become difficult.

‘But is there really a need to hire so many illustrators?’

Right now, there are 10 trainees listening at the front.

That’s too many for outfit illustrators.

Maybe if it were for avatar production.

‘…Is it because I’m judging by my own standards?’

Perhaps JP, ID, and CH hired a similar number.

For me, it was such repetitive work that I could handle it alone, but that wouldn’t be the case for other outfit illustrators.

Thinking about it that way, I can understand.

‘However, dissonance will arise.’

Different styles.

Different feelings.

Different atmospheres.

Different art styles.

Märchen Live is a group.

There are generations, and the individual designs of those generations must also be unified.

But what if tasks are divided among several people and the work is shared?

Visual dissonance arises, like, ‘That one looks flowy, but why does this one feel stiff?’

It’s natural.

The artists are different.

Even if they created outfits with the same concept, they cannot produce the same result.

That’s why I don’t keep assistants other than Jiwoo.

Their style must match mine, and the atmosphere must be the same.

The art style, naturally, has to be identical.

Making 10 different illustrations into one is an impossible task.

Just now, Auka spoke from the podium.

The nuance, if I heard correctly, was this.

Dividing the work isn’t very good.

One person should handle it, like herself, or like KR’s Muil.

Therefore, you all must become one.

It’s the standard argument.

If you only look at efficiency, having multiple people work is better than one.

I wouldn’t stop them if they’re prepared for the hate comments that will follow.

But how many would want that?

With 10 people already, no, including the existing outfit illustrators, it will take a very long time.

Moreover, since they have to create according to the avatar, the difficulty will likely double.

‘If 10 people collaborate on one outfit at a time, maybe it would be okay.’

Ten people tackling one outfit, finishing it quickly.

Maybe that would be possible.

Of course, I don’t think it’s a good idea.

“This concludes the JP lecture. Thank you.”

Everyone applauded at Auka’s words.

I couldn’t understand it, but I assumed it was the closing remark.

If you ask how I listened to the lecture when I can’t even understand English.

‘Well, I just look at the pictures.’

I analyze only the drawings Auka prepared.

That’s what I did just now.

It might not be perfect, but it should be somewhat accurate.

I should prepare for tomorrow’s lecture.

———————————————————————

The next day.

As I said, I can’t speak English.

Because I can’t, I prepared a script.

I pestered Tsupi, who was lounging in the hotel, to write down my lines.

To speak more naturally than… a translation machine.

Today was the KR lecture.

Meaning, I had to go up on the podium.

I looked at the people gathered first in the lecture hall.

All of us from KR were seated, and most of the other Märchen employees were also present.

‘…Looks like everyone is here.’

I could see other Märchen illustrators who weren’t there yesterday.

About 30 people.

Slightly more than that were staring intently at me on the podium.

If this were the old days, I probably would have been trembling and stuttering.

But having talked with tens of thousands of viewers so often, the nervousness disappeared.

The script held tight in my hand.

Let’s finish this lecture quickly and go eat.

A question came in.

Tsupi, who had somehow come up onto the podium, translated for me.

“They’re asking if there’s a reason you made the avatar look exactly like your real self?”

“Would they believe me if I said it’s cosplay?”

“I’ll try saying that for now.”

At Tsupi’s response, the questioner looked at me with very skeptical eyes.

Well, what are you going to do if you look at me like that?

How many people in the world actually have white hair and blue eyes?

Can’t they just think of it as cosplaying my own avatar?

…Though, even I would find it strange.

Yeah.

“Anyway, this concludes the lecture.”

A full three hours.

I stood on the podium speaking for three hours.

We took 10-minute breaks in between, but this is the first time in my life I’ve spoken for so long.

After the lecture finished, applause filled the hall, just like after Auka’s lecture yesterday.

A bit louder than yesterday.

Tsupi told me to come down from the podium, but something felt off.

Like something was missing.

Before stepping down, I brought the microphone to my lips again and said.

“In case I don’t see ya. Good morning, good after noon, good night.”

I might not know anything else, but I know this.

Thanks to the international viewers telling me.

I nodded satisfactorily and stepped down from the podium.

I couldn’t resist the sign-off greeting.

After the lecture, we returned to the hotel.

We ate something simple.

Since Tsupi had the corporate card, we could eat anything.

So the manager team leader can use the corporate card freely.

Should I start being nice to Tsupi now?

Thinking that, I spoke into my smartphone.

———————————-

“I feel sleepy after eating.”

[-But it’s only 7 PM.]

[-It’s time for the baby to go sleepy-bye though…]

[-How was the lecture?!]

[-Why can’t we listen to the lecture? Why can’t we listen to the lecture? Why can’t we listen to the lecture? Why can’t we listen to the lecture? Why can’t we listen to the lecture? Why can’t we listen to the lecture? Why can’t we listen to the lecture?]

[-But seriously, isn’t 10 people a bit much?]

[-Did you meet the EN members?]

[-Baby sleepy? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL]

[-Don’t lie down right away… you’ll turn into a cow.]

[-So jealous of Tsupi’s corporate card.]

———————————-

A Space session after a long time.

I was bored lying around and rolling in my hotel room.

So I posted a poll on the fan cafe asking if people would watch if I started a Space.

And what do you know.

Comments flooded in just 10 minutes after posting.

A comment threatened to kick down my door if I didn’t start quickly.

I suspended their account activity.

Anyway, I ended up starting the Space.

————————————–

“There’s nothing to do.”

[-Chatting with us will make time fly, right?]

[-Abandoning the Wol-doongies? Abandoning the Wol-doongies? Abandoning the Wol-doongies? Abandoning the Wol-doongies? Abandoning the Wol-doongies? Abandoning the Wol-doongies? Abandoning the Wol-doongies? Abandoning the Wol-doongies? Abandoning the Wol-doongies? Abandoning the Wol-doongies? Abandoning the Wol-doongies? Abandoning the Wol-doongies? Abandoning the Wol-doongies?]

[-Akira: Please please please please please please please please please]

[-Even a sleeping broadcast is fine, just keep the Space on…]

[-Call Tsupi and hang out together.]

[-Why is that Akira here LOLOLOL]

“Hmm. Ah, everyone. I’m asking just in case.”

[-Yes yes yes]

[-Yep]

[-What are you planning to drop on us now, huh?]

[-What trouble will our baby get into this time…]

“What trouble did I cause…”

Anyway.

“Would you watch if I uploaded a vlog? It seems like I’ll be staying a few more days. Maybe daily, hmm, for about 3 days?”

My words made the chat explode.

Most reactions were positive.

Though a vlog would mostly just show city streets, food, places I visit.

I wonder if this kind of thing is popular.

‘If the video feels a bit boring, should I ask Tsupi to appear?’

My hands or shoes might appear, but still, wouldn’t it be a bit dull with just that?

“Tsupi, are you watching the broadcast?”

[- Tsupi: Yeah, why? Need help filming?]

“I’d appreciate the help. But I was wondering if it’s okay for you to appear in the video.”

[- Tsupi: Then shouldn’t we upload it to the Märchen Situation Room channel instead of WolTube? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL]

[- LOLOLOLOL]

[- Ah LOL, the video’s boring so just have the manager appear LOLOLOL]

[- Seriously needs to be uploaded to the Situation Room channel.]

[- But Wol-nim’s voice will be in it, right?]

“That’s right. My voice or hands… maybe? Won’t they appear?”

——————————————-

I’ve already uploaded photos, and there’s nothing much to expose.

Besides, vlogs are edited before uploading anyway.

So there’s no worry about other things being exposed.

Then I guess I should go out starting tomorrow to shoot the vlog.

My first vlog turns out to be a business trip vlog.
