Seoul Dragon - Chapter 90
Blood and Sword.Filming continued.
The next scene to film was training with Yul.
As the seasons changed, Yul was gradually becoming stronger through Hyeon's guidance.
"That won't do. You're putting in too much force. There are times when force should be applied and times when it shouldn't. Now is not the time for force."
"...I see."
Spring came and life bloomed, through summer and autumn life reached its peak, and when winter arrived life gradually faded.
And after four seasons passed, Yul had absorbed all of Hyeon's teachings.
"Now you're quite presentable."
A natural martial prodigy had bloomed by meeting the right teacher.
Hearing Hyeon's words, Yul only bowed her head.
She knew there was no need for the dragon to go this far for her.
It was just a simple whim, and she knew it was because she felt a trace of compassion for a moth simply jumping into flames... but still.
It was true that Hyeon had given her the power for revenge.
Much time had been delayed building proper martial arts.
Now, it was time to go seek revenge again.
Yul finished her preparations.
"Are you leaving?"
Watching her depart, Hyeon asked. Yul said to Hyeon.
"...Thank you."
Hyeon waved her hand looking at her.
And like that, Hyeon watched Yul's departing figure.
Like a faithful wife waiting for her husband's return.
Because they both knew.
That Yul was now going to burn her life.
That she would put an end to the long revenge saga.
Hyeon muttered.
"As expected, getting attached before parting is no good."
A quiet, yet bitter voice.
Though farewells are familiar to beings who live far longer lives than humans, still... she couldn't help but feel strange emotions each time of parting.
Especially knowing this farewell was one where they would never meet again.
But she had no right to stop her.
Yul had decided to burn her life, and that was entirely her decision.
Only Yul herself could reverse that decision.
Of course, she herself had no such thoughts at all.
There would have been no other choice from the moment she sought her out.
Knowing this, Hyeon muttered quietly.
"Go ahead, try burning yourself."
Despite the considerably long content, filming ended excessively quickly.
"...I really can't find words."
"You're telling me."
The reason filming went so fast was all thanks to Seohyun's abilities.
The only being at present who could use magic.
A dragon.
Because she was such a being, even scenes of changing seasons were possible without any special preparation.
Usually it would require all sorts of effort, but when Seohyun snapped her fingers, rain fell, flowers bloomed, leaves fell, and snow came down.
Even Taehoon, who knew the extent of Seohyun's abilities, couldn't continue speaking when he witnessed it directly, so how much more so for others.
Even Seohyun's own acting ability was no joke - she never had a single NG.
She filled in subtly lacking parts of the script with ad-libs, and even those ad-libs didn't break the flow of the drama but matched the situation so perfectly that the production team couldn't help but be amazed.
Naturally time had to be shortened, so now only one filming remained for Seohyun.
The scene where she transforms into a dragon and first meets Yul.
"Hmm, wouldn't your true form be too big?"
"Rather, that's what will bring the scene to life. We can make the audience understand how transcendent Hyeon is, how she gives the power of revenge to Yul who was miserably defeated by Hyeonhwa."
"Ah... then, understood."
Setting up in a huge open space, Seohyun returned to her true form.
People who actually witnessed Seohyun's size rivaling a decent sports field could only gape even though they already knew how huge she was.
However, all professionally, they quickly gathered themselves and began filming.
Sohyeon seemed overwhelmed by the tremendous pressure facing Seohyun's true form, but rather, such aspects breathed life into her acting.
"...You are the dragon."
Looking up at the pitch-black dragon, Yul spoke with a slightly trembling voice.
-That's right, human. I see you're a moth who desires my power.
"You see correctly. I need your power."
-Do you know what the price is for accepting my power?
"...I know."
-Surely humans are beings who want to live long, so why do you seek to burn your life?
"Because I must. Living long has no meaning to me."
At Yul's words, Hyeon stared at Yul quietly, then nodded that massive head as if understanding.
The sensation of having her entire life grasped at a glance. At the sensation of standing naked before someone, Yul's body trembled slightly.
-...I see. I understand. You are a moth. A moth who burns herself for revenge and wants to burn the world... Such a moth. Good, I'll give you power. The price is half your lifespan. Will you accept?
"I will accept."
Thus, Yul came to meet Hyeon.
With the scene of Yul and Hyeon's first meeting as the last, today's filming was completed.
Now all scenes featuring Hyeon could be considered filmed.
What remained would be Taehoon's filming portions.
Hyeonhwa was also a main villain with her own story.
"Good work!"
"Wow, you really worked hard today!"
Though the filming content had definitely increased, the staff's voices were excited.
Perhaps because they had confidence this would be a hit.
But honestly, even from my perspective, this movie seems like it will do really well.
The characters are attractive to begin with, and no strange forced melodrama was inserted.
Isn't a protagonist who moves toward her goal calmly yet surely sufficiently attractive?
While clearly bringing out the concept of a vengeful spirit, it also takes care of the main villain's narrative.
Also, when I casually heard about Hyeonhwa's narrative from the director, Hyeonhwa herself was a very attractive character.
Not a clumsily whitewashed villain, but a character stained with madness from the very beginning.
A character mad for blood who loves battle, enjoys slaughter, and seeks to burn the world...
The narrative where Hyeonhwa causes Yul to become a being similar to Hyeonhwa was quite good too.
Rather than clumsily whitewashing to say "actually he was a good guy~", I thought it would be a character that could approach audiences much more attractively.
In many ways, that guy Taehoon seems to have had his luck turn after mutating.
Hangyeol who mutated with him is still going around the Middle East mediating... but this one went from wondering about becoming a stuntman at action school to suddenly becoming a lead actor.
Of course, if you think about it that way, no one is as lucky as me.
Thinking about it, I who was worrying about what to do for a living after graduating from Korean Literature department ended up like this...
Even though my filming portions were finished, I dropped by the filming set when I had time.
Watching the movie gradually being completed was interesting.
Above all, it was good to see Taehoon's acting ability continuously improving.
It was good before too, but now you could see he wasn't greatly inferior to Sohyeon.
Even other fellow actors were amazed at his rapid growth.
Moreover, showing madness as if he had become Hyeonhwa itself through acting, I don't know how far Taehoon will go.
...And this guy made a separate stage name.
Apparently thinking it would be better to create a stage name rather than use his real name, he made a quite feminine stage name.
What was it, Taehwa?
No matter how I looked at it, it seemed derived from Hyeonhwa.
Anyway, time flew by quickly like that... and before we knew it, filming for the movie "Blood and Sword" was completely finished.
After filming ended, they began serious movie production, while not forgetting to promote the movie to the media.
"...What's that? Isn't that unnie?"
"That's me."
"...You're filming movies now too?"
Seeing me appear in the movie trailer.
Wow, they're really trying to properly capitalize on the buzz from me.
"Who's that? A mutant? Or CG?"
And Seoa asked while watching the trailer, seeing Taehoon laughing maniacally at the end.
"A mutant. And someone you've seen before."
"Huh? Really? Who?"
"My friend, Han Taehoon."
"...Really?"
"Didn't I tell you?"
"You didn't."
"No, but word spread around school, right? That a mutant appeared at our school during the second mutation."
"But I didn't know exactly who it was... Wow, that's really amazing. So Taehoon oppa filmed a movie right after mutating?"
"Yeah. After mutating he said he wanted to swing a sword around, so I asked him how about being a stuntman, and he got cast as the main villain in a movie right there. But his acting ability was also useful... so he passed the audition right away."
"Jackpot. But what about unnie? Why did you suddenly appear?"
Seoa seemed shocked.
"Me? Well... I went to see Taehoon, and ended up appearing as a cameo by chance."
"For a cameo, you came out with quite a lot of force?"
"It ended up that way as I did it. I heard there's a premiere soon, I'll probably attend that too."
"Oh... can I go too?"
"Do as you please."
"Yes, I'm finally going to see Ju Sohyeon's face."
"Ah, you were a fan of Sohyeon too..."
Seoa smiled brightly.
I remember when I used to lock myself in my room watching movies and such, I recommended some of Sohyeon's movies to her, and she watched all movies Sohyeon appeared in.
"She's my favorite. But lately every work she touches flops... this one will do well, right?"
"It should do well. I'm in it, after all."
"...I want to argue but it's true so I can't argue."
Perhaps realizing my popularity, she made a disgusted expression but nodded.
"Besides that, the movie really came out interesting."
"Oh... can I look forward to it?"
"More than me, Han Taehoon's acting ability is really good... it'll be worth watching."
At my words, she brightened up. At this rate, won't she become a Han Taehoon fan?
