[TS] The Return of The Gamer - Chapter 280
After WinningOLZ's regular season championship.
In fact, it had been quite a while since this fact was confirmed, but what made its meaning quite special was the trophy ceremony that followed.
Originally, there was no trophy ceremony in CKR, the 2nd division league where there is no separate finals match, but it was hastily created this season.
Many fans said that the reason for this was that it was quickly made because of OLZ's buzz, but an official response has not yet been released.
Naturally, the community couldn't help but be heated with discussions about this.
-OLZ Champion!OLZ Champion!OLZ Champion!OLZ Champion!OLZ Champion!OLZ Champion!OLZ Champion!OLZ Champion!OLZ Champion!OLZ Champion!OLZ Champion!
-Why is Outlaw's interview so good? He's become boring.

Accordingly, the Outlaw Zone team will be issued a penalty equivalent to 1 “Caution.”

As always, when the community was filled with stories about OLZ, backlash arose as always.
One would think they'd be used to it by now, like a squirrel on a wheel, but the community was consistently the same.
-No but seriously, the 1st division league finals match is set, and you guys are talking about the 2nd division? Is this real?
-Seriously, if it were the promotion matches, maybe
-Yeah, this is the OLZ gallery, you guys buzz off

Seriously don't care about the 1st division finals at all, and don't even know who advanced -> Upvote
No. I know who the match for the fundamental LCKR finals is, and I will definitely watch -> Downvote
────────
-Upvote
-He's using a cheat code again, you jerk ㅋㅋ
-Get out of here and go to the featured posts
-So, who went to the finals?
-Seriously, stop fabricating things. How can guys who claim they're interested in LOL not even know that SY and MAX went to the finals? Seriously, stop hyping up Outlaw so much. Can Outlaw even be compared to something like the 2nd division? Please, stop making such a fuss.
-Acting like a Soongal fan but actually an Emgal
-lol true ㅋㅋ
-The featured posts section is ruined
+
As that saying goes, in fact, before the 2nd division regular season ended, the 1st division had already finished its post-season.
Nevertheless, articles related to the 1st division were almost nowhere to be found in the community, so existing 1st division fans couldn't help but get angry.
-Hey seriously, who went to the finals? I didn't watch so I don't know
-SY and SCV, obviously, have you only been watching LCKR for a day or two?
-Info) Surprisingly, it's MAX, not SCV
-Seriously? They're finally going to the finals
-Weren't they always mid-tier? woah woah
-Didn't they finish around 3rd almost every time? How is that mid-tier, that's top-tier
-lol true ㅋㅋ
-Even so, SY will probably win
-Agreed
-And that SY is expected to get completely thrashed by OLZ next year
-That's also true lol 😂😂😂
The community was on fire as always
* * heavy line *
The de facto finals.
No, the regular season of the Legend of League Challengers Korea Summer Season has ended.
In the case of the teams participating in the post-season, they were busier than ever trying to secure the single remaining promotion/relegation seed, and the teams that didn't make it were facing a long vacation until the next Spring season.
Of course, there weren't no minor tournaments in between, but they were tournaments to which it was difficult to assign significant meaning.
And,
It was the same for LCKR, the 1st division league, which faced a similar situation.
The only difference for LCKR was that its post-season had already finished long ago, and only the finals match and promotion/relegation matches remained.
The finals match was MAX vs SY.
It was a showdown between MAX, who took first place in the regular season through a fierce battle until the very end, winning by set difference, and SY, who came through the playoffs.
Of course, what we needed to pay attention to before that was not the 1st division finals match which was still far away, but the teams participating in the promotion/relegation matches from that division and the CKR post-season.
Despite the regular season being over, we gathered in the practice room as usual.
This was because a truly important gateway remained from now on.
“The teams participating in the promotion/relegation matches from the 1st division are GBP (Goodbye Princess) and SS Class. You all know them, right?”
“Aren't they the super bad kids?”
At Kim Jae-min's words, Baek Seong-an sighed.
“Seriously, that was the case with your last interview too, don't do that again anywhere. You'll really get scolded.”
“Aw, am I a kid?”
“Ji-hoon.”
“I'll be careful with my words.”
With Kim Jae-min barely keeping his mouth shut after Kim Ji-hoon was called out, the conversation continued.
“We don't know which team will come up from the 2nd division side… but it looks like either BLH or FFF will likely come up.”
“I think so too.”
I affirmed.
As Baek Seong-an said, frankly speaking, among the CKR teams, none were honestly that good in terms of performance yet, other than BLH or FFF.
“Frankly speaking, those two teams aren't a big concern. The problem is the two teams we haven't faced much yet. GBP and SS Class.”
Goodbye Princess and SS Class.
As teams we had already scrimmed against a few times, our scrim record itself was significantly ahead, but it was best to discard the thought that they, pushed into a corner by the promotion/relegation matches, would be the same as before.
Of course, despite that, strictly speaking, there are many perspectives that see the promotion/relegation matches as slightly more advantageous for the 2nd division teams than the existing 1st division teams.
The atmosphere of the teams going to the promotion/relegation matches from LCKR is bound to be quite different from the teams going to the promotion/relegation matches from CKR, the 2nd division league.
Naturally, the side that receives more pressure is inevitably the 1st division side, which has to defend its position.
There was also a difference in momentum.
In the case of the 2nd division teams, they climbed to that position through victory after victory, whereas the 1st division teams, conversely, fell to that position through losing streak after losing streak.
That is why, strictly speaking, even though the 1st division side has many advantageous aspects in the promotion/relegation matches, there are quite a few cases where the 2nd division teams win.
Of course, it's not uncommon for teams that came up from the 2nd division in that manner to fail to hold on in the next season and fall back down, but that part was not something we needed to think about yet.
What was important was the immediate task at hand.
“Are scrims scheduled?”
“Quite a few are scheduled. It seems like there are many teams requesting scrims from us. The upcoming finals are one thing, and there are the qualifiers too.”
“Ah, that's right.”
World Championship Qualifiers.
It's the so-called Red Cup Qualifiers.
Given the timing, the Red Cup Qualifiers start just 4 days after the finals match ends, so the teams participating in the qualifiers couldn't help but be sensitive to the results of the finals match.
“That's good for us.”
Usually, it's rare for teams participating in the Red Cup Qualifiers to reach out for scrims with 2nd division teams, but our team was an exception.
To that extent, our team has solidified a considerably good position in the current domestic pro scene.
“Then who are today's scrims against?”
“YSG.”
“Ah...”
YSG (Y So Games).
As it was the first team I joined as a trainee, it was quite a nostalgic resonance for me.
Of course, it's not that we haven't scrimmed with YSG since OLZ was founded, but perhaps because Baek Seong-an was being considerate of me, the number of times was relatively quite small.
“YSG's atmosphere seems quite good these days. It probably won't be easy.”
“It's fine.”
I remember.
YSG's players are definitely not ordinary.
In fact, back when I scrimmed at YSG, there were times when we achieved results close to a perfect win rate in scrims, even among 1st division teams.
In a way, it might be the case that it was natural for YSG to secure a Red Cup Qualifiers seed.
“Then, let's go.”
“Yes.”
It's time to go face my old team.
