The Sacred Manager Life - Chapter 44
Show Me MoreI had never seen a real storm before.
So I imagined scenes I’d seen in movies:the house-sized waves from The Perfect Storm, the massive whirlpools from Pirates of the Caribbean, all the awe-inspiring moments I remembered from watching them in theaters.
But I didn’t think at all about what would happen if such a disaster actually occurred… inside a small indoor space.
At first, the water surface began to ripple.
It felt similar to the wave pools at water parks, so I thought it was going well.
Waves rolled from all directions, crashing into each other and splashing everywhere.
Jeongah noticed something was wrong and started flailing around in a panic.
Still, up to that point, there wasn’t any real problem.
“What did you do?”
“Ah, well…”
Cha Soyeon’s hair was fluttering in the wind.
Wind was blowing—inside a sealed indoor space.
The ceiling flashed, and rain started pouring down.
The room dimmed like storm clouds had gathered.
‘This seems a bit much…’
[I only summon the storm. Everything else comes from what you imagined, Master.]
Ah.
I’m screwed.
I had been picturing those epic cinematic scenes.
They should’ve warned me!
“Kyaaaaah! Mister, save me!!”
Jeongah got caught in a whirlpool and was literally rolling over the water’s surface.
Then a wave sucked her under and she started thrashing around.
She was moving far more than before—so yeah, she’d definitely lose weight.
But this wasn’t the time to be thinking that!
I swam toward where Jeongah was struggling.
It wasn’t even a few meters away, but the waves were so intense that it was hard to get close.
I barely managed to grab her, but pulling an 80-kilogram kid to safety wasn’t easy.
For now, all I could do was hold on to keep her from going under.
It felt so real—like we weren’t in a pool but drifting in the middle of the ocean.
When Cha Soyeon stood up, I shouted at her not to come.
It was hard enough just dealing with Jeongah right now.
‘Do something! This is gonna go really bad!’
[Why don’t you think of gentle waves instead? I told you—it all comes from your mind, Master.]
Yeah, I heard that earlier, but how the hell am I supposed to think straight in this situation?!
I cursed the spirit for not offering a solution sooner and quickly pictured an image in my mind.
“An emerald beach… soft waves… a gentle breeze… a crystal-clear sky… blazing sun…”
As I pictured a scene straight out of a beach resort photoshoot, the change happened instantly.
The massive waves calmed down, and the whirlpool vanished without a trace.
The dark clouds that had covered the ceiling disappeared, and the sunlight flooded the pool again.
I dragged the dazed Jeongah over to the edge of the pool.
Exhausted, I slumped against the wall—when Cha Soyeon approached me.
“You’re going to tell me what just happened, right?”
“Haa… haa… I’ll explain everything later. Just don’t question anything when you talk to Jeongah.”
Right now, the priority was explaining things to Jeongah.
*
“Uwaaaah! I can’t! It was too scary… I really can’t do it!”
“That was just because I got the settings wrong earlier. Normally it’s just like a wave pool, you know? Artificial waves that gently push you back and forth. If you swim along with the waves, you can get more exercise with less effort.”
I made up a story about a wave generator.
It was nonsense—I’d literally controlled the weather—but Jeongah was too shaken to question any of that.
She didn’t doubt that part, but after getting swept up a few times, she wouldn’t even step back into the pool.
While we were going back and forth like that, she suddenly stopped crying.
Just moments ago, she’d been screaming that she couldn’t go in.
Now her mouth was hanging open in shock, completely frozen.
Wondering what was wrong, I turned around.
And there stood a goddess, dressed in a white bikini.
Flawless, glowing skin,Surprisingly full breasts,A slim waist flowing into a toned, sculpted hip line,Smooth thighs that connected perfectly to her calves.
[The Lord put a lot of effort into this one. A masterpiece I haven’t seen in centuries.]
‘A masterpiece… yeah, that fits.’
“Does it suit me?”
Asked Cha Soyeon, who had just taken off her robe.
Jeongah and I both silently nodded and gave her a thumbs-up.
*
“Do you know why I dressed like this?”
“To… swim with us…?”
Jeongah mumbled uncertainly, lacking confidence.
“That’s part of it. But the real reason is to show you something.”
She looked straight at Jeongah.
“Juwon told you to swim and diet so your body could become like this.”
“That’s impossible. How could I ever look like you…”
“Of course you won’t look like me. You’ll have a body even more glamorous than mine.”
“Huh?”
“I saw Jungwon’s video too. You two are identical twins.
People might have different opinions about your faces, but when it comes to your bodies, both of you were born with it.
Perfect curves, unforgettable bust and hips—honestly, as a woman, I was jealous of your volume.”
Jeongah’s face turned bright red from all the compliments pouring in from Favorite No. 2.
“That amazing body of yours is trapped inside a thick shell right now.
It’s been building up for two years—just imagine how thick it’s gotten.
Juwon is trying to break through that shell, no matter what.
He wants to reveal that perfect body and put it on stage.”
I’ve thought this before, but this woman… really knows how to talk.
As long as your mind doesn’t wander off in a weird direction, there’s no way you won’t fall for it.
“Juwon’s trying so hard, and you’re too scared of a little wave to get back in the pool?
I told you it was a setup mistake.
Was your resolve to take Jungwon’s place really that weak?”
Critical hit.
As soon as Jungwon’s name was mentioned, fire lit up in Jeongah’s eyes.
“No, that’s not true! Do you know what it took for me to even leave my room?! No matter what happens, I will stand on stage in Jungwon’s place!”
“Then get in the water right now. Show me your resolve. Words aren’t enough.”
The girl who was crying, refusing to go in, suddenly stood up and jumped into the water.
I thought it would take a while, but Cha Soyeon solved it in an instant with just a few words.
“Wow, seriously, there’s no winning a verbal match with you, Soyeon.”
“I haven’t won yet. I still haven’t dragged Juwon into bed.”
Seriously, why is that your benchmark?
*
This time, Cha Soyeon got into the pool as well.
She waded out to the middle with Jeongah, then called out to me.
“Can you make some waves again?”
She really knows how to match the rhythm.
Such a clever woman.
[You already summoned the storm earlier, so we can use it anytime.]
This time, I focused on keeping things strictly at the level of a water park attraction.
Waves that gently rose and fell in varying intensity,Currents that shifted directions like a lazy river,Jets spraying from every angle to keep the water moving and push them around.
It wasn’t a storm, more like the entire pool had turned into an amusement ride, just like Moana controlling the ocean.
“Aha-ha-ha! This is so much fun! Turn it up a bit more!”
Soyeon, like a fish in water, led Jeongah into the waves with ease.
Swimming together with her favorite idol, Jeongah’s fear disappeared from her face completely.
[This is the first time someone’s used a storm this way. Your creativity is impressive.]
If the goal is clear, the means and method will naturally follow.
With Soyeon helping like that, there’s no way this won’t work.
It wasn’t easy keeping my focus for a whole hour, but judging by Soyeon’s earlier comment, I think I helped burn at least 720 calories.
When she got out of the water, Soyeon looked like a kid who had spent the day riding all the park attractions.
Meanwhile, Jeongah collapsed like a rag, lying on the floor and groaning like a rice cooker.
“Mister… I think I’m gonna die. Can I please have a snack?”
They say swimming makes you starving because the blood rushes to your core.
As soon as she got out, Jeongah was already asking for food.
“There’s snacks on the living room table. I put out extra since it’s your first day—go help yourself.”
“Waaah, thank you so much!!”
Just a second ago, she looked like she couldn’t move a finger.
But the moment snacks were mentioned, she jumped to her feet and dashed off to the changing room.
With a faint chuckle, I sat down on the sunbed, and Cha Soyeon sat beside me.
“That was one of the spirit’s abilities too?”
“Yeah. I once used it to calm a storm, so I figured I could wake one up too. Thought I’d try it.”
“So that’s why it was so dramatic at first.”
“I imagined a storm like the ones I’d seen in movies, and it came true. It caught me off guard. You were really surprised, huh?”
“I was outside, but Jeongah, who took the full hit, had it rough.”
We both sat in silence for a while, staring at the pool.
“Do you have any other abilities?”
“Other abilities?”
“Yes. There are lots of water-related miracles in the scriptures, right?”
Now that she mentioned it, I did experience a few other miracles besides the storm.
‘Hey, do that thing we did at home.’
I dipped my finger into the water, and red spread out like dye being dropped in.
Moments later, the entire pool turned a deep reddish-brown, almost wine-colored.
“Wow, what is all this?”
“It’s wine. Made by the spirit, so I bet it tastes amazing. Try it.”
She stared at the wine-tinted water around my finger and then brought it to her lips.
As her tongue brushed against it, a shiver ran through me.
It happened so fast I didn’t even think to pull my finger back.
She sucked on it gently, then licked her lips playfully with an adorable expression.
“Mmm, it really is good. Or maybe it’s just because it came from your finger?”
“……”
Her moist lips and the way she licked her tongue after made my whole body and heart melt.
The look on her face as she savored my finger was… simply seductive.
‘God, this is seriously not good for my heart.’
Oblivious—or maybe totally aware—of how I was feeling, she grinned and pushed for more.
“Show me more.”
