The Sacred Manager Life - Chapter 121
“Ah, Father! Save me…please, sa…save me…!!”
I snatched the phone as soon as the other side picked up, hearing the desperate screams.
“Chairman Han Kyu-seop, I presume?”
“Who the hell are you?”
Surprisingly calm.
Guess he’s been through hell and back.
“Come and find out for yourself. It’s your son’s villa in Gapyeong. You’ll want to bring a lot of people.”
I gave him some friendly advice.
“I know you’re busy, but come as fast as you can. You’d want to see your son while he’s still in one piece, right?”
Click.
I hung up and stared at the bastard.
“Ever been eaten alive by a lion?”
“What?”
“Didn’t think so. Now’s your chance to experience it.”
The space split open, and a lion roared as it thrust its head through the gap.
The same lions from the den where Daniel and his friends had been trapped.
It clamped onto Han Ki-jin’s leg and dragged him inside.
He clawed at the floor in terror, but it was useless.
‘This’ll take over an hour.’
[I’ll have them keep biting him until he arrives.]
‘Got it.’
I had no intention of letting him die easily.
About an hour and a half passed.
In the meantime, I carried Yuna out and put her in the car.
Parked it a distance away, then returned and waited.
Headlights flashed at the end of the driveway, accompanied by a cacophony of noise.
It was a grand, almost military-like procession.
Someone stepped out, huffing and puffing.
It was Han Ki-jin’s father, Chairman Han Kyu-seop.
“You the one who called?”
“Yes.”
“Grab that bastard.”
“Yes, Chairman.”
A few men at the front moved swiftly.
Their movements were on a completely different level from the thugs I’d taken down earlier—these were professionals.
The fastest one reached for my shoulder.
Ssshk!
A flash of light, and his severed arm hit the ground.
He blinked in confusion before the pain hit, then screamed as blood gushed from the stump.
“Gyaaaaah!!”
“Wh-what the hell?!”
As the armless man writhed on the ground, the others froze.
Then, from the darkness, it revealed itself.
““Ugh…uwaaaaah!!””
A massive wheel, interlocking with others, slowly turned.
Six wings fluttered at its front and back.
Hundreds of eyes embedded in the wheel and wings blinked.
The Third Angel, Ofanim—symbolizing human dignity and justice.
[In scripture, it’s the only angel that told humans, ‘Do not be afraid.’ As you can see, it looks more like a demon than an angel. That’s why it led with ‘Don’t be afraid’ instead of a greeting.]
Even I, who’ve seen my fair share of horrors, was terrified when the spirit summoned it earlier.
So imagine how these bastards felt.
Some had already collapsed at the grotesque sight.
Faced with something beyond their comprehension, none dared approach.
I was ready to slice them all down, but there was no need.
‘Bind them. I’ll burn them all at once.’
[Got it.]
White crystals began forming on the bodies of the dozens of burly men who’d stepped out of the cars.
They thrashed, trying to break free, but in seconds, they were completely encased, immobilized.
As Ofanim lifted its gaze, the crystallized men floated into the air.
“Huuuh…uuugh….”
“Agh! H-hot!!”
“Ghhh, aaaaah!”
The salt pillars drifted toward the flames engulfing the villa.
Acrid smoke billowed as the salt began burning from the surface.
The stench of burning flesh filled the air.
The writhing men were being roasted alive inside their salt shells.
Watching his dozens of bodyguards burn, Chairman Han Kyu-seop lost his mind.
He stumbled back, tripped over a rock, and fell flat.
“Wh-what…what is this….”
“Divine retribution. A fitting end for scum like you who trampled on human dignity. You and your son will get special treatment.”
There is no mercy in divine punishment.
No leniency or tolerance.
Divine retribution tears apart even women and the weak if they’re deemed guilty.
It doesn’t operate by human laws or morals.
And for a vile old bastard and his monstrous son? No exceptions.
Even the mighty chaebol chairman trembled uncontrollably now.
“P-please…spare me. I’ll give you…anything. Name your price…please…!!”
He didn’t even ask about his son, just prostrated himself.
I stared at his pathetic face and called the spirit.
‘Bring him out from the lion’s den.’
The air split open, and Han Ki-jin tumbled out—reduced to a ragdoll.
His eyes were rolled back, foam spilling from his mouth, his mind utterly broken.
“Ugh…hhh…aaah….”
He was so far gone that killing him would’ve been redundant.
“Ki…Ki-jin!!”
The chairman examined his son with despair.
It took only seconds to realize the truth.
That’s how bad it was.
“P-please…at least a hospital….”
“Who was it again that killed an unwed mother and her child and buried them in secret?”
He’d coldly murdered his secretary and his own flesh and blood just for bearing his child in secret.
These filthy memories flowed into my mind through the spirit’s power.
A pressure—urging me not to forgive, to deliver divine retribution even more thoroughly.
It erased the last traces of hesitation in my heart.
“Called her crazy, locked her in a mental hospital, and drove her to suicide, right?”
“Promised her a job abroad, then sold her into a brothel?”
“There’s also the woman you deliberately crippled in a ‘car accident.’”
I listed the sins he’d committed in his youth.
I wanted him to know why he had to die.
He listened blankly, then forced out words.
“Why….”
“…….”
“…What does any of that have to do with you?! That’s all in the past! And Ki-jin had nothing to do with it!!”
“Your son did worse. Like father, like son—except he turned out even more twisted. Don’t expect a clean death.”
Grooooooan—
The wheel reacted to my rage, expanding outward.
Each eye turned bloodshot, glaring at the two.
Soon, they were trapped inside the spinning wheel, walls closing in on them.
Like a centrifuge, the wheel spun rapidly, beginning to dismantle them.
Chunks of flesh peeled away like salt crystals, sucked into the wheel.
“Ghhhk, kyaaaah! It hurts, it huuurts!!”
[Their flesh and soul are being shredded, flowing into the abyss. They’ll keep getting torn apart there. Forever.]
I could see every strip of flesh being ripped off.
Their bones were sliced thin and sucked in.
Though it looked like a movie effect, the sounds of tearing flesh, grinding bones, and their agonized screams made it horrifyingly real.
How much time passed?
With a final pool of blood, they vanished into the wheel.
Black clouds gathered over the villa.
Swirling, they darkened the sky before shifting color.
Like a searing core bursting outward.
[Land like Sodom and Gomorrah must be purged with fire and sulfur. It’ll soon be ruins—get out.]
I stood up at the spirit’s words.
Returning to the car, I found Yuna peacefully asleep in the backseat.
From the driver’s seat, I watched the villa.
A massive pillar of fire descended from the black clouds.
In an instant, the villa and its surroundings were engulfed.
Nearby cars exploded in a chain reaction, creating hellfire.
‘The flames aren’t spreading.’
[Can’t start an unnecessary wildfire.]
The inferno that had devoured everything around the villa died out just as quickly.
Sirens wailed in the distance—someone must’ve called it in.
With the area reduced to ashes, there was nothing left to see.
I started the engine and turned the wheel toward the exit.
Back on the highway, the guiding line reappeared.
Seems there’s still somewhere I need to go.
The line led to the nursing hospital where Da-sol was.
Entering her room, I saw her lying there, still adorned with charms like before.
Beside her bed stood the Da-sol I’d met at the lodge, staring silently.
She glanced at me, smiled faintly, and bowed her head.
Behind her, several unfamiliar women appeared.
One by one, they bowed deeply, their expressions serene.
They must be the women sacrificed to the two now in the abyss.
I bowed my head slightly in return.
After their greetings, they turned and walked away.
Finally, Da-sol mouthed something and stepped back.
I couldn’t hear her, but it must’ve been ‘thank you.’
‘She can’t be saved?’
[She asked the divine to let her stay until you finished your task. Her business in this world is done now.]
‘Not even with the gift of healing?’
[That’s not an illness. It’s resentment (Han).]
So she was waiting for me to set her free.
Back in the car, I called Doksa.
“What’s up? Calling at this hour.”
“There’s a BJ named Joo-hee on Paprika TV. Her agency’s tied to Yongho’s group. Since Yongho’s gone, handle it. Deal with Joo-hee too.”
Quick on the uptake, he noticed the edge in my voice.
Of course, he didn’t ask why.
“My way?”
“Yeah.”
“If it’s shady, I’ll clean it up. I don’t run dirty operations anymore.”
“Your call. Hanging up.”
Next, I video-called Cha So-yeon.
I wanted to see her face.
“You do video-call sometimes.”
Her familiar face appeared.
Had it only been a few hours?
“I missed you.”
Her cheeks flushed slightly before returning to normal.
“Is it over?”
“Yeah. Yuna’s safe.”
“You don’t look satisfied.”
“Handle the hospital side quietly. Da-sol…won’t wake up.”
“…….”
She didn’t press further.
She must’ve felt exactly what I was feeling.
We’ve become that connected.
“And them?”
“Sent them to the abyss. They’ll never find peace, apparently.”
“You killed them.”
“Yeah.”
“Good. I’m not judging. I’d have done the same.”
Her smile was like a benevolent goddess.
No matter how I look at it, she’s too good for me.
“Come home now. I’ll comfort you. I’m dying to hold you.”
“I’ll be there soon.”
Today, more than ever, I longed for Cha So-yeon’s embrace.
